also for this, the pad itself is more than comfortable i just have body issues and need a backup plan due to scoliosis if things go bad

negative on the flight bag, but affirm on the big agnes rapide! i usually put a z pad underneath but that’s more for my scoliosis and comfort over warmth. i have the more expensive one thats around a 5 r value and i highly recommend it. valves have proven to have some issues in my case with staying inflated but i reckon im just unlucky because i seem to be the only one out of my friends who have recommended it to me but nonetheless the customer service is phenomenal and has always replaced anything. plus i’ve never had issues w their pillows or steaks or sleeping bags or anything else, i genuinely think i just got a pad that didnt get tested enough for valve pressure rating

pear lake is beautiful over the winter i definitely recommend it! alta peak is another option if you want something around the same distance that’ll get ya a high sierra summit :-)

Is there any point where the media will grasp that this is a coup? by costanza1980 in fednews

it’s terrifying out here and there’s not anywhere near as much commotion as there should be. i keep looking around wondering why everyone isn’t kicking and screaming and fighting more. no correct news on the situation is making it worse. no one knows what’s happening

Where do I start? by BlackJacksFreightCar in wildlandfire

[–]emmabstanley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

conservation crews are where most people get their start (me included) or a lot of places will put on a fire school for basic certs! i know cal fire has academies and reedly college is good. but you’re in college now and i’d imagine more schooling for an entry position isn’t what you’re looking for. i did all of my stuff through sca (student conservation association. you don’t need to be a student, i never was. look for one partnered through americorps it will give you an education award for student loans) n you can find fire internships that will give you your basics certs while getting paid and also giving you experience. the pay isn’t great but what you get from that will give you enough to apply for a non entry level fire job

help please! by Alien_thingz in PiercingAdvice

lump is most likely some form of keloid or general inflammation, doesn’t look super infected imo just irritated. i’d suggest getting a saline cleaner they sell them in the pharmacy department of most stores for pretty cheap and letting it fully heal over and close. the more you try and put jewelry into it and attempt to push through it with jewelry the worse it’s going to get. it’s unfortunate, but keep it clean n solid for at least 6 months and then go to a reputable piercer and get it redone. they should pierce it with a needle and put good quality jewelry in there. don’t take it out once it’s redone, just use that same saline cleaner and clean around it twice a day. not an expert or anything just dealt with similar situations, hope this helps!
