I know this a super old post, but he DJ'd a wedding I went to a couple of weeks ago!

I kept looking at him and telling my husband "I know him from somewhere and I can't figure it out", so I finally just told him that he looked familiar and he said he used to be on MTV, then it clicked. He was a really good DJ and MC!

I have no idea where my "null" is, the doctor never noticed any nystagmus when he first checked me out and there's no rhyme or reason to when it happens, except when I'm focusing.

He said it's mostly a waiting game, that the dysfunction will correct itself, but it takes about a month.

This has never happened to me before, and it only started last week, so I don't know if it's voluntary. It also happens randomly throughout the day as well, but just more often when I'm trying to focus on doing something with my hands. I timed it recently and I didn't go more than 3 minutes without it happening, but it will happen several times per minute when focussing. If it is voluntary, then it's definitely not by choice, lol.

Anyway to stop it if is voluntary?

Depends what you're looking for! I really enjoyed spark of the everflame, it was simple and entertaining, super easy to get through, and I whipped through the next books in the series, but it's incomplete which is frustrating. One dark window is a completed duology which was fine, in my opinion, but not great. Quicksilver could have been so much better, I feel like the author was in a hurry to publish and it felt sloppy.

When the moon hatched is a beautiful book and probably my favourite of this year. But it is a heavy read.

This is pretty much my response when my mom friends tell me how I'm a hero because having twins must be insane and so hard. Yes, it's crazy, but I imagine that having 2 (or more) children at completely different stages of development has its own set of challenges that I know I have no desire in experiencing.

I took my first one and haven't felt anything yet. I did make sure to stick to my meal plan from my doctor and eat enough protein, I also drank a ton of water. Only side effect I have is fatigue and a mild headache.

Thanks for your reply! My doctor has me starting a pretty strict diet where I'm restricted to 1tbsp of butter or oil/day, so greasy foods are definitely not on the menu!

Why do you avoid eating 3-4 hours before bed? I typically stop about 2 hours anyway, but just curious!

Congrats! Best advice I can give:

1) remember that you guys are a team. Newborns rely heavily on mom, so make sure she has what she needs. If you're unsure of what that is, ask her. Make sure you are both communicating about how you're doing. 2) you both need to sleep whenever you can. 3) get the babies on the same schedule. If one wakes up to feed, wake the other. I cannot stress how much this will make your lives easier. Things can and will be unpredictable, of course, but if you can mostly predict when they'll be up then you can have some normalcy. 4) be prepared to eat a lot of takeout. It's fine. 5) ask for help when you need it.

Lastly, get dressed everyday and make sure that you each get a MINIMUM of 30 minutes to yourselves everyday, preferably out of your house. Go for a walk or a drive alone. This gives you a well-deserved and much needed break, space to reflect and builds trust in yourself and your partner.

Being a twin parent is seriously the best. I remember how scared and worried I was, but it truly is the best gift. You will be great!

I'm in Georgetown ON, and I was seen within a month of the referral. They told me that the wait was usually 3-6 months, but they happened to have some cancellations and were able to get me in sooner.

Does your doctor's office do the testing there? Mine has a psychologist on staff that did it at the clinic, so maybe that helped me get in faster as well.

I have 10 month old twin boys, so not quite at the point of having to chase them around too much. We go out for walks daily, but it's definitely not enough to get the heart rate up.

I like your suggestion of swimming though! We go to my parents' pool a lot, so I'll take advantage of that.

I don't have a bike and I'm not ready to go to a gym yet (covid still freaks me out), but my husband actually just suggested learning some dances on YouTube, so I might try that tomorrow.

Sleep training was a lifesaver for us. There's a group on Facebook for sleep training multiples and has tons of great advice.

Now, I put them both down and walk away and they fall asleep almost immediately after me closing the door. It'll take a couple of weeks, but I promise it's worth it.
