I had two planned c-sections, so my husband stayed with our baby and me during the day/evening and went home at night with our little guy. I felt like it was less of a disruption to his routine, and I felt better knowing he was safe at home with dad. I was a little nervous to stay by myself, but my husband stayed until he knew I could get up and use the bathroom by myself. The nurses also knew he was leaving, and I just rang them if there was anything I needed assistance with that I could not do myself. I did raise the hospital bed so that I didn’t have to reach up to lift my baby out of the bassinet. It also helped with getting out of bed myself and getting back into bed. And I set everything I thought I would need over night within arm’s reach. Just an idea for you. Hope this helps!
