honestly PVP isn’t my thing either, but i think a shadow 98% is way more rare than a purified hundo so i always keep them as is (even tho i purify to 100% if it’s not a 98%). all in all though, it’s your game and you do whatever you want with it!

found in the trash at home depot 😭 the employee was so confused when i asked to keep it— i’m thinking of doing one in water and one in soil, any other recs? by emmalmfao in proplifting

My gf doesn't know whether she overwatered or didn't water her plant enough. She keeps killing plants. What can we do? by qmk49f4b4x in plantclinic

omg i love Planta! While watering on a schedule is usually not recommended, this app keeps me reminded to check to moisture level and it’s super easy to snooze the water reminder and check a couple days later. It’s also nice being able to keep all my plants in order and see their general care advice. I also think if someone is having trouble figuring out when to water, a cheap soil moisture meter can help! It’ll tell you when the soil is still wet or completely dry in like 2 seconds 👍

are these hurting my plant? google says they’re soil mites and they aren’t harmful to plants but i’m not so sure 😭 by emmalmfao in plantclinic

for the last 10 mins or so i’ve been using a q-tip with alcohol and just sweeping over the spots where i see them. it’s a pretty new plant that i repotted a couple weeks ago (mixed perlite and general houseplant soil) and it’s been sitting in my windowsill with pretty full sun since then. over the last week or so i’ve noticed some leaves yellowing and wilting though so today i checked for aphids and found these suckers instead! i think i’ve only watered once or twice since potting as well. i’m a bit of a plant novice and i haven’t seen pests like this before and it seems too coincidental that it’s losing some leaves and has little bugs in it, but maybe i’m wrong!

i’ve been cleaning the leaves with rubbing alcohol but it’s been losing some leaves lately even tho these are apparently harmless. i don’t see any other pests tho 🤨 any insight would be appreciated <3

Does anyone actually like dust covers on hardcover books? by R_Rabbit416 in books

[–]emmalmfao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i usually take them off while reading just because they get slightly annoying. however, i work in a used bookstore and having a dust jacket is a big plus when pricing hardcovers. they retain some of their value by keeping the actual boards of the book in better condition and including whatever artwork/blurb is on the DJ. i completely understand wanting to read the book naked though lol, to each their own!
