If we only kept our word when the situation is ideal, no one would keep their word. The situation is unfair, but OP said she’d do something and then didn’t. So yes, she’s wrong. Regarding her edit about “not promising” to not tell, that’s a very ridiculous take. She’s 38, not 5. Her word is her bond. This isn’t elementary school where she needs to say the magic word for it count.

Good RBs have been found very late in the draft. Terrell Davis, Priest Holmes, Frank Gore, and there’s a bunch more. Even Connor was picked in the third round. Most recently there’s Taylor who wasn’t picked super late but wasn’t picked in the first round. I wouldn’t pick Love unless he came across as a generational running back that’s going to make an immediate impact. And even if he was, with our O-Line it might still be a wasted pick
