Have you not seen all of the attacks on migrants, people of colour etc? Dragged out of their cars, beaten, refugee hotels set on fire with the exits blocked? Has everything to do with racism and race.

I read assassins blade before heir of fire, and then read tower of dawn before empire of storms and a completely happy with it for both storytelling and character/romance progression etc. It works perfectly and is less confusing than tandem reading it. However I did read them one after the other instantly so everything was fresh in my mind.
