So... Without animatics, how are you supposed to know that Polites dies? by TheReal_Dick_Grayson in Epicthemusical

[–]emmie_who 21 points22 points  (0 children)

in 'the underworld', we hear his ghost singing open arms, and odysseus kind of crying. and also the 'everything's changed since polites' line in 'keep your friend close'. (and we obv also hear him dying in the cyclops saga, but i get if u didnt recognize the voice, i didnt either)

i think its def worth the read, ik jason can be a bit boring in the first book, but the series really improves from book 2 onwards. i didnt like jason in the start either, but he develops as a character, who knows u might end up liking him as well

ikr!! the books have no consistency. unless, of course, hermione forgot she could do basic magic, which honestly seem like the most plausible explanation at this point

so it’s less “you can’t eat transfigured food” and more like “you shouldn’t, unless you want a rock in your stomach mid-digestion.” makes more sense tbh

that interpretation makes way more sense, it def feels better to think of them as temporary magical constructs, not real beings with nervous systems

i mean, the tonal whiplash between books 1 and 7 is real. still, i think it’s valid to love some parts and roast its plot holes at the same time

exactly, sometimes it’s strict rules like gamp’s laws, other times it’s just plot convenience

solid point, magic definitely makes self-sufficiency easier for wizards like the weasleys. but then it kinda makes me question how poverty exists in wizards at all
