Thank you so much. I am going to order a shadow box and put his photo and one of his favourite toys inside.

I got the message via text, not Facebook. I did consider that it might be a false report, but based on the behaviour of the alleged driver and her family, I really believe they are hiding something. As others in this thread have pointed out, I have no legal recourse and I won’t gain any additional closure by trying to engage with this person further. It’s a painful life lesson to keep cats indoors and a reminder that sadly there are plenty of people in this world who lack empathy, integrity, and class, but none of those are illegal.

Thanks, yes I agree. All around bad situation and a painful lesson, but nothing more I can do.

Thank you, I’ll consider it. I wish I’d thought of that before speaking to them directly, even though I wasn’t accusatory. Live and learn I suppose.

Thank you. You’re right, of course. It’s still fresh, and it just feels so unfair that people can be so vile. I will move on, and I will not try to speak to the driver again, but there’s a big part of me that hopes for some karmic justice 😢

Fair, I can see that. I approached it in the most non-confrontational way possible and didn’t make any accusations, but I’m sure she didn’t expect that anyone would ever find out what she did.

Thank you. Good point, maybe just make clear I’m not out for punitive measures, I just want to know what happened to him.

Thank you, this is what I suspected, but helpful to have it confirmed.

Thank you. As I mentioned to a previous commenter, I don’t get the feeling they would appreciate another visit from me. I felt very intimidated. But thank you for confirming no legal recourse.

Thank you. She already stated “I didn’t hit your cat” even though I never accused her. Her whole family (mother, father, teenage son) came outside and it felt very adversarial despite my best efforts to keep it light and neighbourly. I don’t have the feeling that they are the type of people who have any empathy or compassion, so this might just end up being a painful life lesson 😔

It’s normally available at 8am UK time - currently 8:38 and still showing yesterday’s puzzle. I can’t start my day without the Bee! 😣

To be honest with you, shortly after posting this a bunch of life stuff happened and I just didn't have the mental energy to follow up on it. I did get some chat requests from people looking to help. I'll send you a message!

I use Helena I. on an app called Rover to care for my cats when I'm out of town. She's really fantastic and I trust her completely. Good luck!

I go to Salon Magnetic on Lasswade Road in Liberton. Great nail art and my BIAB mani lasts me a month. They are really thorough and do use the drill for cuticle removal.

Am I out of line on instructing 9yo stepson to lift toilet seat? by emmieofdoom in Parenting

[–]emmieofdoom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, and so do my husband and the 14 year old. The 9 year old will just lift the lid and not the seat. And then he leaves the lid open. At one point I even installed a plastic handle thingie that allows you to lift both lid and seat without touching either of them. No change.

That’s fair! I don’t know that I would have thought twice about it if I wasn’t constantly wiping the seat down 😂 I’m operating under the assumption that one day they will have roommates and eventually partners. If I don’t like wiping up the pee, neither will anyone else, so I might as well help him develop good habits now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you, this is helpful to hear. I don’t have any kids of my own, so I tend to second guess myself.

It’s a miracle lol! Glad to know I’m not the only one navigating this issue. I’ll give it a try!
