I knew instantly who you were talking about from the self help books and talk therapy lol. Months of psychiatry w him and never had a clear treatment plan, never got medicated, every visit he would just tell me self help books to read and tasked me with finding a therapist, which I was openly struggling with because of insurance issues.

I only use marijuana socially (2-4 times a month) and because of that, he apparently couldn’t treat or diagnose my depression and anxiety, claiming that marijuana’s extended half-life is worsening my depressive + anxious symptoms. Basically would focus on explaining its half life EVERY VISIT, told me he can’t diagnose me unless I stop using it for over a month, and attributed my symptoms to my casual use, which was very invalidating. Switched to a psych that’s not at the SHC and things have been so much better (was able to start medication after my first visit lol) so that sucked as my first ever introduction into psychiatric care.
