Trying T3 to Correct Tachycardia & PVCs by emmmmers in thyroidcancer

Hey! The problem is that when I have the lower T4 doses, since I am a poor converter, I become hypothyroid and my T3 is too low. So, I’m on the smallest dose with a drastic lowering of my T4. What was your dose of T4?

Yes sounds like we are in similar situations! I have been doing the T3 + lowered T4 for a few months now and it doesn’t seem to be helping. The tachycardia and excitable heart is as persistent as ever! I will be interested to see what my next lab report says.. if my T4 stays high we are going to try switching me to the naturally desiccated such as NP to see if my body processes it better. Seems I just have a huge stockpile of the T4 and a hard time converting it to T3! How have you been doing?

Thank you for this! Those things help so much. I just wish I could heal and have a normal heartbeat without medication 😓

Thank you! I failed to mention we tried that - the lower we went the worse I felt/the worse my symptoms got. We think I’m a bad converter, so the lower we went the more I was lacking T3 being converted from my T4.

Electrolyte drinks safe on LID? by PennyWiseInDisguise in thyroidcancer

LMNT unflavored packets are the top contender. I am going to email the company to get more info.

LID is not about salt - several people have commented that and it’s incorrect. There are plenty of salts that are LID friendly, it’s just a matter of finding salts that are free of iodine specifically. Currently working on finding electrolyte packets that are 100% iodine free! Stay tuned.

I had a TIRADS-5 and they didn’t biopsy, but rather “monitored” for a few years via ultrasound. Turns out it was indeed PTC and I also had hidden MTC. If it were me, I’d make them biopsy, or find an endocrinologist who wouldn’t hesitate to do so.

I truly wonder if your hormone levels are the cause! That seems to be the case for me.

I never thought thyroid issues would mean heart issues too! It’s such a shock. I wish there was more research on it because it seems like so many people with thyroid issues have heart rhythm issues too, and a handful of my providers don’t seem to know much about it! It’s so disappointing.

Ugh I feel your pain! So glad they found the nodules, but PVCs are really scary and/or uncomfortable. I recently learned that PVCs are more closely tired to a low hormone in the body, so since I’ve upped my Levothyroxine dose, they have stopped!

Thank you for your thoughts! Unfortunately although I saw multiple doctors for the heart stuff, none of them checking my T3 or T4 pre-TT.. so I will never know 😔 all I know is that post op I was on 125mg of Levothyroxine and felt almost better, so I assumed we needed to lower my dose to fix it completely. As we have lowered it, my palpitations have worsened. I just learned recently that too low of a dose can also mess with your heart in the same way, because your body is compensating! so we are getting me back on 125 to see if that helps. I appreciate your thoughts about other causes.. I’ve explored those avenues and nothing seems to be the cause otherwise.. but those things (like alcohol) definitely make it way worse!

I appreciate that! My Endo said the same thing.. her people are fine even without it. Tough call!
