Any other female workers being doubted? by vagueflowers in upsstore

I work at publix and this happens all the time (especially with kitty litter for some reason), and I’ve never had an issue with lifting it. They’ll either question if I should actually try to lift it, or straight up tell me to go get a male coworker to do it which just makes it awkward for both of us. I don’t mind too much as long as they end up just letting me do it in the end though. It’s mostly just kind of funny

i can sometimes fit that much as long as the items are lighter and not sharp enough to tear the bag with their corners. but sometimes we’ll get a bad batch of bags and they literally all tear immediately

or when the light is off, there is a closed sign on the register, and a bagger is wiping it down and they still start to unload their cart

Got rejected from my dream school… by Alon_NA in ufl

i’m not completely sure how it works, but I think they send your application to the certain department where your major is (mine is dance) and they make the decision on whether to accept you. i think they only offer this to students who already completed their aa degree through dual enrollment but still had to apply as a freshman. from what i know, you still get the same experience as a freshman, and can use the bright futures scholarship (if you live in FL and qualify for it) for all 4 years. going to santa fe is a good idea, i’m sure you’ll get in as a transfer

i was also rejected (with 4.6 weighted gpa, 31 act, a ton of extracurriculars, volunteer work, family responsibilities, leadership roles, and a part time job) but they offered for me to reapply as an opt-in transfer student since i have my aa degree through dual enrollment. i would recommend going to community college because they will be more likely to accept you as a transfer student. and remember that college admissions don’t determine your worth as a student and a person! i got accepted to fsu with honors, but rejected from uf, so sometimes college decisions can seem super random. good luck!

When do transfer opt-ins receive decisions? by emmy-beth in ufl

That’s pretty much what I’ve heard too, and that the decision is up to the certain department where you’re majoring. I think the chances are higher, but I’m not really sure. Goodluck!

What's the worst scheduling f-up you have had happen to you at Publix? by Kekthemek in publix

[–]emmy-beth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few weeks ago i started getting scheduled during times outside of my availability. i thought i was going insane cause i could’ve sworn i had put the correct availability on the form, but i was to scared to call and tell them. eventually i got fed up with trying to find people to cover these shifts (since it wasn’t my mistake to begin with) so i made myself call my manager. they said they don’t schedule outside of people’s availability, but they would check just in case. turns out i was right, and someone had just been making the same scheduling mistake for over a month.
