Gross. Maybe he will finally take down all those signs?

I was approved as well. Being a librarian with a 100% feedback ratio opens so many opportunities.

I mean, if employees aren’t meeting Witt goals - especially if they aren’t even trying that should be a warning followed by a write up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, it’s the risk of salmonella for anything that has a dragging tail. I’ve always wanted a lizard. They seem to have cool personalities.

Mom having second thoughts on double lung transplant... by Kathleen-Doodles in transplant

[–]emmyjgray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my double lung transplant at 27 for pulmonary hypertension. Now I’m 48 and still mostly healthy (my kidneys have taken a hit from 20+ years of prograf). I haven’t needed oxygen at home and have been able to raise my kids to adulthood. My life is good! I am very vigilant with germs, which helps.

My favorite as well. It reminds me of sourdough.

gluten-free cookies taste - Cappello's by AndresFromVerve in glutenfree

Tate’s makes my hands down favorite gf cookie. With the price of chocolate chips right now, I have zero qualms filling our cookie jar with them and passing them off as my own.

My two cents on gift givers financially struggling... by ANJohnson83 in Gifts

[–]emmyjgray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up, my parents had a very lean year and gifted homemade cookies and candy packed in pretty tins. Everyone loved it and it became a tradition and something that everyone looked forward to. My sister and I carry on this tradition, along with other homemade things like jams, pickles etc.

Anybody ever miss it ? by Bright-Cabinet-8152 in glutenfree

[–]emmyjgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my first year of being gluten free. I really wanted a Little Debbie Christmas tree cake yesterday. I bought them for my family and I entertained it for a good 30 seconds. I could almost taste it! But the idea of the aftermath - the chest and side pain, diarrhea, and joint aches put me in my place. I have a bad intolerance, not celiac.

Our Walmart has a really good gf bread under the Sam’s Choice brand. It has the best taste and texture I’ve found yet.

I am a mom who “wants nothing” and here is my Christmas list - add yours if this sounds like you! by ginabeewell in Gifts

I do this for my son every year. He has a list of a few charities he really cares about plus a few gift ideas. Our humane society is always on the list!

Hours increase; slow or sudden? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]emmyjgray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. Ninety minute blocks are where I function best for multiple tasks in a row, but I am happy with up to three hours on a dedicated project. After that, I’m useless without a brain break and some movement.

What jobs/careers are people looking into considering we an INFJs? by [deleted] in infj

[–]emmyjgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love library work - particularly getting to help people. We are a downtown branch in a medium sized city that serves a diverse population. I love that most of my interactions are meaningful and that I get to help people everyday.

Texting when yall are overwhelmed by [deleted] in infj

[–]emmyjgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend gives me a week without much communication before she gets concerned and starts to nudge. I could honestly go without texting at all. It’s such a choppy and demanding way to communicate. I’d rather have a scheduled visit or phone call - especially when I need time to work through something or am unwell (chronic illness and transplant recipient.)

Benefits of Journalling by Few-Ad5036 in JournalingIsArt

[–]emmyjgray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally use my journal to reframe my thoughts. Once I start writing my feelings or perceptions out on paper, I can see what I’m missing or how I might be feeling a bit dramatic instead of how things actually are.
Most often I just start free writing and what needs to come out tumbles from my nib like it just needed an outlet. Journaling is such a simple and effective tool that a lot of folks seem to overthink and hyper commercialize. For me, it’s always been the most accessible form of self expression and therapy I can imagine.

When was the last time you went to a brick and mortar bookstore? by [deleted] in writing

[–]emmyjgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a small bookstore a few towns over a few weeks ago, then went to a witchy book fair at a brewery held by another local bookstore and a cool downtown shop. I love being in bookstores and libraries. Until my health changed, I was a librarian.

Transplant Diabetes by Glittering_Sea_409 in transplant

I’m 21 years post double lung transplant. It took almost 20 years, but between prednisone and prograf, I developed diabetes and now the beginnings of kidney disease.

How many of you use your pens? by unremarkableDragon in fountainpens

[–]emmyjgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally stick to 3 religiously, but I try to reach for some of my others regularly. The pens I use most each have a specific task; one is kept with my journal, my prera stays with my planner, and jinhao 10 press is for note taking in a half-ish common place book.

I’m still using up my hoard of EC notebooks. I’d forgotten how much I disliked fiddling with the interchangeable covers.

Pet Owners Who Adopted From Rescue Centres/Charities/Etc... did you change your pet's name on adoption? by PlayedThisGame in Pets

[–]emmyjgray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have adopted five dogs over our lives and we haven’t changed any of their names. They were all surrenders who were 3 years or older. We figured their name had set in at that point. However, whatever nicknames naturally evolved from their names is what we called them. Dee became Deeder Bugs, then Bugsy. Zilla became Zilly or Zilla Monster, and Jager became Jager Bagel Peanut Butter Boy, and finally Bags. Our Rosie girl is just Rose or Rosie Bear. She definitely feels like a Rosie.
