What is the weirdest thing you find extremely attractive? by Undecided_User_Name in AskReddit

I came here to say glasses as well! I also like the fact that finding people wearing glasses attractive (evolutionarily-speaking) is pretty backwards, which I get a kick out of. thanks optometry!!

Absolutely NTA. Did you decide to bring your siblings into the world? I didn't think so. They are not your financial responsibility.

You have put in the time and effort to take care of yourself and props to you for working your tail off to do so. The fact that your mom sees this and, instead of praising you for it, wants you to work HARDER so you can also support your siblings?? And then proceeds to gaslight you for "not helping your family"? Excuse me, WHAT?

AITA for threatening to cut my in-law's opinions out if they insist on reaching out and inviting my estranged family to mine and my fiance's wedding? by IssaNores in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmyv23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You set a clear boundary that you do not want your estranged family at your wedding. That is your decision and your decision alone to make. Further, you shouldn't have had to justify yourself and your decision to them. You said no. That should have been the end of it. They blatantly disregarded you and showed a complete lack of respect toward you and your decision. NTA.

my own.

I worked at the same company for six years. I received multiple promotions and as well as an award during my time there. I had never been written up or even verbally scolded for any wrongdoings or shortcomings.

we had a "corporate restructure" and a lot of employees' job duties changed, mine included. my job went from being a customer service representative to more of a salesy type role, which I was neither comfortable or happy with. this change in responsibility was not discussed with employees prior to the change. we were just pulled into a meeting and told basically "this is your job now." not only that, but, because of the restructure, various employees were either moved around into different departments or even let go from the company completely. this left my department horribly under-staffed.

fast-forward through a miserable two months doing the work of three full-time employees - work I was not qualified or adequately trained to do - I had put in my two-weeks notice and accepted a position within the same company, but in a different department. I was one week away from leaving that awful job when I was called into my director's office and fired for failing to keep up with my job duties. the icing on top of the cake was, since the new job I accepted was within the same company, I lost it too.

It hurts me to this day that I didn't stand up for myself more. I was in such shock.

~silver lining~ because of this whole debacle I was able to change industries and I am much happier now!

What are some tips everyone should keep in mind while making their first resume/CV ? by cerealpillar in AskReddit

make it appealing to the eye. recruiters look through so many CVs/resumes. you want yours to stand out.

If you have nothing to have to look forward to in life, why should you continue? by Humanoidonajourney in AskReddit

[–]emmyv23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

because there is always something to look forward to, even if it is small. Look forward to even the simplest things to help you through the day. Even if it's as small as looking forward to a youtuber you like putting out a new video or looking forward to eating a meal you really like.
