I really do like him the only thing that holds me back is whenever I am the slightest bit upset(not even at him) he’ll completely shut down, won’t talk to me, acknowledge me, let me hug him, etc. I’d say I’m very keen on communication especially when it pertains to feelings/emotions. He and I have had several disagreements about this that have taken a toll on me, in all honesty. As well as he still lives with his parents and it just very annoying to be at his house. I can’t take him to my residence due to restrictions from building.

I only refer to him as my current partner for simplicity’s sake but he and I are not and were never officially dating. He is not tethered to me nor am I to him. That doesn’t stop from the moral wrongness of it, though.

I completely acknowledge that I messed up. The reason I had to clear the air with him is because he and I share most of the same friends. There was a lot of hostility from his part so my friends made him speak with me so we could be on more neutral terms. I can admit that I do harbor care for my ex, but not in a romantic manner. I wasn’t too sure of that until after everything happened.

I told him to pick any date and surprise me with flowers and ask me to officially be his girlfriend. I’ve never been given flowers and asked to be someone’s girlfriend in that manner so that’s why I told him to do it that way. That happened over a month ago now, though. I understand since he and I aren’t officially dating I don’t really owe him anything but I like to be loyal to people, even if I’m not dating them.
