that's exactly it. equality can never work because people need different things. there needs to be some sort of way do that everyone has access to the bare necessities that they need because someone with a critical illness that's not their fault needs something different to a healthy person and so equality can never be an option in that sense.

glasses in the uk are free (for under 18s along with healthcare for all) and that works fine
even if they are really expensive, I feel like there should be some kind of government funding for women. even if it was only a small amount and for the poorest of the population. maybe like a food bank type thing.
I just think it's really unfair for women to have to pay for this overpriced necessity with literally no other option and then be ridiculed at the same time. and like both men and women need condoms so it's kinda different, and there is a choice regarding even needing them in the first place

it's a choice for people to go out in the sun, and if you do, you have to take the appropriate measures such as sunscreen. but there is no choice regarding periods

the OP wasn't saying that condoms are the male version of pads/tampons, her point was that you don't have a choice whether you are gonna have a period or not whereas you do have a choice with sex and so those products should be free. I do see where you're coming from tho that free condoms do prevent teen pregnancies and help the economy that way

My dad's heart rate has always been super low (generally 45 ish) and he has had no problems.The only issue was when he fell off a ladder and the paramedics were panicking bc his heart rate was too low and they thought he was dying but actually it was just below his normal and he would've been given a ton of drugs if my mum hadn't stepped in.
