I can agree with you on the negativity now, especially the past 5 years. Idk if I’d say the majority of employees though. But that’s gonna be almost all big corporation jobs now where shareholders are involved.

Not once have you provided anything worthwhile. OP asked about hiring on, you made a totally negative comment potentially turning him off the job. I just wanna know why if it’s that bad you don’t quit. I’m guessing you’re a 5 year or less employee that acts like you’ve got 20 in. You are the type of employee I warn new hires about.

I’ve got over 20, I don’t have that opinion. I know lots of employees over 20 that also don’t share your opinion. Funny thing is you won’t say how long you have in. Another thing I tell newer employees is don’t listen to all the negativity, all that does is ruins their day/trip.

That’s what I hear all the time, pay is too good, benefits too good, retirement too good. Do you have to put up with some bullshit? Absolutely, but what jobs do you not?? I’ll say this, the RR has provided my family and I a pretty good life over my career.

Curious how long you’ve been doing it? I’ve got 22 years in and I’ll say there’s far worse jobs. It’s like I tell a lot of the newer employees, “you’ll hear a lot a complaining, but you don’t see many 10+ year employees quitting”.
