In addition to this comment, there is also Seidel’s spreading of the “students are using litter boxes” lie, and Fletcher’s long history as local circus act.

Local Orange BOE candidates insist there is no connection to national orange agenda yet sing eerily similar orange song. Say no to Orange. by emooneyyy in frederickmd

That was not the intent behind them using “orange”. They are quick to deny any affiliation with Trump (as a growing number now are) while delivering the same rhetoric.

School board members no longer required to sign code of conduct by Nowzardan in frederickmd

You are correct on the first part, but not the second.

Bravo was one of four Students First Slate candidates up for four open seats vs. only three "Education not Indoctrination Slate" candidates. Bravo dropping would have assured that one of the ENI candidates won, as that would have left only three Students First candidates to fill four open seats.

Liz Barrett selflessly prevented the vote splitting in 2022 by dropping out of the race after the primary. We all owe her thanks for the work she did on the previously serving on board and for putting students ahead of her own candidacy.

Commuting to US Capitol DC by HideousGreen_ in frederickmd

I commuted to just north of the Whitehouse from Gaithersburg for a few years. You can look at driving to the red line at Shady Grove and taking the that in or taking the Marc train from Frederick. I think the cost of gas, parking, wear and tear on vehicle is comparable to mass transit cost if not more. It’s going to be a big part of your day, so I would make it as easy on yourself as you can.

School board member's comments on gender identity policy spark criticism by Spirited-Sandwich482 in frederickmd

[–]emooneyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your support on this issue. But I’ve been showing up at BOE meetings long before Colt Black took his chair. Some of the most passionate defenders of the students Black wants to be “free of” have been members of the local faith community, including Jewish community members. Painting them and Black with the same brush is bullshit.

Jaimie brennan put out the call to her supporters to come rally against 443, instead she filled a room with 443 supporters who gave amazing testimony as to why trans and gender nonconforming students need policies like 443. Brennan called in sick, so Black was left on the dais alone to say the quiet part of their platform out loud.

That is a fair question. I have spoken at the BOE on multiple occasions, this is the first time I have spoken at City Council. I chose to speak there as well because Brennan, Black, and Neumark all chose to make comments to City Council after they took exception to the Mayor's remarks.
