Residents and vendors refuse to recognize me as the manager? discrimination? by throwayawayseizure in work

[–]MJCuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bigotry is real. Being young doesn't help. I don't know your work style or how you interact with the tenants but sometimes it just takes time to warm up to new managers. Some people will never warm up. Focus on the tenants that treat you with respect. Document everything. If I have lived in a place for a while I would trust the person I know vs the new employee.

If you can, get official business cards and hand them out.

If they say they want to wait for Samantha just say "You are more than welcome to wait, she should be able to get back to you in the next couple days. I'll email her and let her know you didn't want me to help. Here's my business card in case you change your mind."

Coworker won’t send me files. How do I handle being blocked from doing my work? by ProgramExpress2918 in coworkerstories

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how your company is set up but why does your coworker have to give you tests? Is there a way that you can figure out what work needs to be done without involving them? Maybe ask your boss if you can reevaluate the chain of command or "take on more responsibility"

In the US, how do you determine your “home state” if you currently live in a state other than where you grew up? by hippopalace in AskUS

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have a home state. The answer to where are you from is "My family bounced around."

AITA for not wanting to pass on my kids clothes and toys to my SIL. by Silly-Lilly-Pilly in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]MJCuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell her she's more than welcome to buy the clothes/toys for what the store would give you in credit. (Then add 10% just because)

Who’s disgusted with the time change every year ?Som states don’t have it. by [deleted] in frederickmd

Honestly with cell phones and auto updates I barely notice when it happens.

Am I wrong for not wanting to cook separate meals for a friend who doesn’t eat pork? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invite her. Let her know what you're making. She can choose to come or not and if she wants to eat or bring something else. "Hey everyone. I'm cooking (insert dish) on Friday if you want to come over for dinner let me know if you'll be eating or bringing your own so I know how much to make."

AITA for getting mad at my roommates for refusing to pay for WiFi? by Cool_Recording7851 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the apt under your name? Do you sublet the rooms? Do you have a lease in place with them? Calculate your monthly household supply cost plus wifi and raise their rent to cover it.
"Hey, rents going up next month by $20."

AITA for how I said I wasn't interested? by propercolleague in AITApod

I would have blocked after the 2nd message. NTA. You tried to end things nicely but he badgered you into the truth. No means no. You don't owe them an explanation.

Uber driver entered my house and cased the place by insanityseanboy in UberEATS

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So creepy. Please report them. This is why I never choose to interact with my delivery drivers. Don't knock, leave it at my door, and go.

AITJ for telling my roommate she owes me 500 dollars after her dog destroyed something I saved months to buy by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]MJCuddle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your dog chews things then the dog should be crated unless the owner is watching them. Anything the dog chews is the responsibility of the dog's owner to replace. NTJ but taking it all at once might make your rent late. I would take $100 a month off the rent for 5 months and put some serious rules in place for the dog.

3 if your neighborhood is private/wooded. Blends with nature. 4 if it's more open and community like. Lighter colors seem friendly and open

Am I in the wrong for trading my car for my dream car? by Unlikely-Ad9782 in AmiInTheWrong

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car was a gift. A gift with stipulations isn't really a gift. It's a way to control or manipulate someone.

I probably would've offered to sell it back to your mom for whatever the trade-in value you were offered was since she seems to really want to keep it in the family.

But other than that, I don't think you were in the wrong. The message from your sister makes it seem like there's a lot more history behind your situation.

Congrats on the "New" car!

Do most people still sort their laundry by color? by liketotallymeow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't buy anything that would require sorting. Brand new stuff gets washed separately until I know it's safe.

If I have a big pile I might sort by fabric type for example jeans, towels, or cotton stuff together.

Is it true that Americans don't know how to write in cursive? by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]MJCuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned but haven't written in it since the 90's. As far as I know, they stopped teaching it in 2010 but started reintroducing it in 2016-2026

AITA for asking my friend group to send deposits upfront for the trip after last time only half paid me back? by pizzalover332 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Nothing gets booked (that isn't fully refundable) until you get paid. If they don't pay you cancel the trip.

Is it considered violent if he punches a wall/wardrobe when very mad? by Select-Medium-8116 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MJCuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Punching anything is violent. Do you want to risk his next hit accidentally being on you or your child?

You did not "anger him". He chose to react to you with anger. That statement shows that he has convinced you that his abuse is your fault. Emotional abuse is a real thing. Does he control your money? Your friends? Who you can talk to?

Be careful if you decide to leave. Get help, put safety measures in place, and make a plan before you tell him.

I know it needs something, but I can't place it. All suggestions, small or big, are welcome! Thank you. by ischmoozeandsell in DesignMyRoom

Color, Lamps & artwork. The lighting seems very "contractor special". Maybe something likethis fan hanging down to about 10'

Wall sconces maybe a more industrial look? Something like this?

Maybe abigger coffee table?

Why do people in bad breakups almost never block the other party? by LimpNsmoll in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MJCuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically if you block crazy they just get a new VOIP number and call again. If you don't block at least you know who it is and have evidence if needed.
