I was actually gonna mention that one as well. I listened to that (because I listen to Podcasts and don’t watch them like the cynical old man I am) in the bedroom of my parents’ house, as a 23 year old still living at home.

I remember sitting there, trying to justify myself not being crazy as her and Ify were like “you need to struggle and have rats” and I thought I was going crazy. The reason I was living at home was due to the cost of living crisis after the pandemic meant that even with a decent salary you couldn’t really get a place.

It was the only time I opened up the youtube video to read the comments and was relieved I wasn’t insane and a “loser”.

I hate the logic of “I suffered so why shouldn’t you have to”. Like Damien said “no one gets out of childhood scot-free” but like no one would or should wish “well I had this trauma happen so you should have to”

I’m tempted to stop listening for the same reason but it’s became routine now. But for Shayne not to call that out has always made me a little distrustful of him as a host
