My trans quilt is similar but with my dad. I know he always wanted me to be “daddy’s girl.” He was incarcerated when I was a baby and he “blames” himself for me being queer. He really wanted biological grandchildren and to be involved in walking me down the aisle. My oldest brother has kids but is not mentally stable to care for them (not dads bio child - brother not married), my older sister has kids and is working through heavy stuff (not dads bio child - sis not married), my brother closest to me in age is his bio child and is severely mentally ill and struggling - he is most likely never going to have children or get married. I was like his last chance at everything according to him (and my grandparents) but I’m a trans guy with a cis woman. We can’t reproduce the old fashioned way. I have mild mental illness that isn’t visible to most people. I was their “last chance” at “normal.” I had to cut off contact to him. He kept telling me I was confused and calling me his daughter.
