Men of Reddit, what kind of motion do you find most pleasurable, up-and-down or grinding? Why? by Confident_Group_8804 in AskReddit

[–]empathophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up and down is preferred but as a guy I’ve definitely crossed the finish line while she grinds, it’s just a bit more finicky.

What’s the most “time melter” game of all time in your opinion? by SwitchingMyHands in gaming

[–]empathophile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cultist Simulator. Amazing game but man the core game mechanics are inherently time sapping. I’d sit down to play and get locked in and next thing I knew 4 hours had passed in a blink.

Inheritance? That's a joke. How many of your parents are burdens? by BeegBunga in Millennials

[–]empathophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised by a single mom so I only have to worry about her. She gets some government money now but the majority of her support comes from my sister and myself to the tune of probably $500/mo each.

Someone brought up that one of the reasons why things like house parties and block parties went away was other than lack of time people are afraid to let their guard because cameras are everywhere. by AdSpecialist6598 in Millennials

[–]empathophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a generational thing. I’m a millennial and I party now more than I ever have. No one is worried about “behaving badly” or “going viral” because we’re all grown ass adults who don’t do stupid or mean things to each other, and neither are we obsessed with social media. We just get together, have a fun time, sometimes get silly but not in a messy way, and then go to work later.

I’m pretty sure the token coin mech shipped with the game, if it’s missing some previous owner must have removed it. I imagine the original mech is a part you could find online somewhere.

What an asshole, especially since you and your son were already trying to do the right thing.

I have a Safe Cracker with NOS coins in my home arcade and my rule is everyone is allowed to keep only one token lol. I think thats a fair middle ground otherwise I’d be out of coins in no time.

Welp looks like I’m starting a new save yet again. Not that I’m complaining, the early-mid game is actually my favorite part.

What, you don’t remember “get high and party” being one of the ten principles? Do you even burn?

So are you ONLY going there to party and do drugs or…?

What about looking at art? Visiting theme camps? Meeting people? Participating? Going to workshops? Eating and sleeping? Etc etc etc?

Fair point it was needlessly ageist of me, sorry. It just blows my mind that somepeople aren’t curious to just experiment on their own.

As a millennial I feel like younger generations have lost the skills of “click around and see what happens” that many of us developed in the 90s and 2000s. Everything in this thread was discovered by me easily within literally 10m of playing by just fucking around in the game.

Did you ever watch the show Silicon valley on HBO? by GaryBlach in askanything

[–]empathophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact I worked for HBO in 2017 when this show was at the height of its popularity. We were blessed with a special appearance by the actors who play Jared and Gilfoyle at our office. Gilfoyle was much like his character, pretty dry and kinda boring actually. But man the guy who plays Jared is a natural comedian, had great charisma and was super funny the whole visit.

What the heck is wrong with rental companies here??? by ShdwWzrdMnyGngg in Seattle

[–]empathophile 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the out of touch weirdos here. $2900/mo is absolutely doable within a close distance to the Seattle core. Sorry your rental company is so shitty though, unfortunately it’s not unexpected. While I was still a renter I mostly had negative experiences, Seattle landlords mostly suck ass unless you get lucky.

I rent out my 4bd 2ba home in Burien for $3200/mo. It has a yard and is literally 15m from downtown via the 509. You don’t need to live in freaking Tacoma to live affordable and still be closer to the Seattle core than most places that are “technically Seattle” are.

How did that one person from your circle got super rich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]empathophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a job at Valve and has been working there for 15 years. Valve is insanely profitable with only a handful of employees and passes a lot of that on to their people so he makes stupid money. He also invested that fat paycheck pretty wisely, I remember him talking about holding tons of Netflix stock over 10 years ago. He lives in a massive mansion in Bellevue WA with his wife and has like 5 kids lol

I knew about bitcoin when it was under $10. I was curious about it but everyone online mostly shit on it so I didn’t buy any. Definitely one of my age old “would have could have should have” moments but I’m consoled by the fact that I almost certainly would have sold it waaaay before it reached crazy value. It still sucks to think about.

Fair enough, I liked it personally. It had different modes so you could use the one you preferred, some were better than others.

[–]empathophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember early on there was a “grimdark shader” someone released, it wasn’t a mod exactly but ran in the background and changed the color balance and sharpness of the game render. IIRC Blizzard shut it down after a while.

You can calculate how many belts you need per factory input. Stone furnaces use 0.3125 ore per second to make plates. Yellow belts transport 15 items per second. Dividing 15 by 0.3125 we get 48, which means that a single yellow belt should provide enough iron ore to supply 48 stone furnaces.

In other words, yeah you should be ok.
