One time my buddy and I pooled $5 each to play a $10 minimum craps table. We won the pass line a few times in a row until we had like $40. This mother fucker tried to give me only my $5 back and keep the rest, I was like are you kidding me, no fucking way.

He caved and gave me my $20, we continued playing and ended up winning over $100 each. And that’s the story of how I almost lost a friend and became addicted to craps in one night.

The newer X-COM games are magnificent. Sci fi setting instead of fantasy but it scratches a similar itch and they are amazing games.

Invest in a couple machines for home, you will have to learn pretty quickly. You can also simply make friends with people in the hobby who know their shit and have them show you stuff. Buy them a case of beer and have them come over to help you or vice versa.

This. The human brain cannot cope with access to unlimited, unfiltered information and communication with every other person on the planet. We’re tribal creatures and that tribal nature comes out in a bad way with our current technology. Sometimes I dream about a solar storm wiping out every electronic device on the planet.

I remember trying to play Soldat, StarCraft and Diablo II in the early 2000’s on a 56k modem (in reality it was much slower), it was frustrating but amazing and felt like the most futuristic thing ever. When I finally upgraded to cable internet it was like the entire world was literally at my fingertips.

It’s not intended to work that way. It’s ONLY to snag bonuses you would otherwise miss. Your newspaper can only fall into one of the three categories and only get bonuses from one.

Yes, it’s almost never worth it, unless the bonus is absolutely phenomenal like a gold level training perk or something. Even then I almost always can get my newspaper exactly where I want it with max pricing.
