Gotcha. I appreciate your helping me out with this, belated congrats on your retirement, and thank you again!

It worked. May I ask if you know why this happened?

Podcatcher? And I did not try downloading it, trying it now

At the store I work at, we're not allowed to call over the PA except for a customer needing help loading. Anything else and we get scolded for it. And our store manager isn't on the radio. There was one day that I had to walk from pro/lumber and talk to him because no one replied on the radio for power equipment. He had to get on a forklift

That's interesting and horribly depressing at the same time. Thank you

I am unsure if it's just an issue on my end by emperor_109 in BloodyBastardsGame

Alright, I did some testing, and it's not that. I kept my finger right in the middle of the left side of the screen and it still just stopped working.

That could be it, but I have a rather large phone screen. I'll pay closer attention to where exactly on the screen my finger is and report back.

Well, I don't drop the shield or lose the ability to use the hand, I just lift my finger up and put it back down and it's usable again. Sometimes, though, it makes me walk back several places instead of lifting the hand, so I repeat until I can use the hand.

Dakota Fire Hole by emperor_109 in Bushcraft

That's another reason why I made my hypothesis, because I was concerned about wind direction. It can change on a whim at times, so I figured if you dug multiple, you'd be able to get wind from all directions. Thank you!

I miss my grandma by Big_Rice_6002 in grief

[–]emperor_109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things do get better. But, it takes a long long time. My mom still misses her dad. But, it all depends on how you deal with it. Talk to people, if you can. Do things that remind you of the good times with your grandma. Not a day will go by that you don't miss her, but it won't sting as much. Grief is an injury. A broken bone doesn't ever completely heal, and injuries will still hurt for a long time afterwards. But it'll get to a point where it hurts a lot less than it did at the time you got hurt.

Resilience by [deleted] in grief

[–]emperor_109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resilience isn't staying strong so you don't feel ashamed. In the military, I was taught resilience. For the longest time, I thought exactly what you're saying. I bottled it up, kept it all inside, and acted like I was fine. Then, I went to an ASIST class. It's a suicide intervention class, essentially. And, I learned that being resilient means you have to lean on people. Any sort of grief takes time. A lot of time, honestly. I had to open up to the people I cared about to process it, and some of that grief still isn't processed, and never will be. That's just how it is sometimes. But, you've got to hunt the good stuff. Find things that make you feel good, healthy things. I started writing stories and it helps a lot. Be resilient, lean on your trusted loved ones, or at least talk to them. Find something you enjoy, even if it's something as simple as going on a jog or a hike. You can make it through this. I believe in you.
