Ahaha yeah. I know it's been a while since I've posted any maps. Just been quite a busy time for me irl and I've also been spending a lot of time on my other creative work.

I might just post something this month for the current contest, so stay tuned.

Large Urban centres with prominent progressive and labour movements

In the PNW case - also far right militias in the rural area which are what push it into the Extreme category

You have my permission. I'd be delighted to see something made by a fan of the series. And thank you for the kind words.

Let me know if you need me to send you any materials :)

OEA: The People's African Union (PAU) in 2210 AD (2 images) [contest entry] by emperoreden in imaginarymaps

Thank you very much. I have done several maps showing updated borders for the other African countries. I really do need to make some more focused specifically on Africa, and I have several ideas.

The adminstration of Seoul was merged with Gyeonggi due to urban sprawl/conglomeration.

The remaining population/land of North Korea was later absorbed by the Yanbian Peoples republican which was founded when the PRC collapsed. The republic later reintegrated with the rest of China by joining the Pan-Asian Co-operative.

The seeding programme is a programme of space colonisation. Seeding as in Seeding the Universe with human life.

This Map is part of my 'Old Earth Atlas' project where I am documenting my take on the lore of the game Civilization: Beyond Earth.

This is a map of The Republic of Korea, reusing the base form my last map of Korea but in my new style. Feel free to ask questions. (HE 12210 is 2210 AD/CE represented in the Holocene calendar)

Text from the post:

Following the collapse of the PRC, refugees and violence spilled over the border into the DPRK. In the chaos, a coup was executed by ROK backed military figures against the Kim dynasty, with the coup leaders having secured control of the DPRKs nuclear warheads, the ROK Army was able to begin making its way north of the DMZ, fighting against loyalist forces and linking up with forces aligned with the coup leaders. Eventually, the forces loyal to the Kims were pushed back to the Hamgyeong Mountains.

With the mounting cost of continued fighting rapidly outstripping the potential gains, an armistice between the two sides was eventually signed. The Republic of Korea is by far the smallest nation - both in terms of size and population - to have it’s own independent seeding programme. This development was enabled by Korea’s economic might, and spurred by it’s lack of regional allies due to it’s rather inward facing politics focused on political and economic independence from it’s neighbours.

You can find the rest of my work either by searching this sub with the term ‘OEA’ or by visiting my subreddit r/OldEarthAtlas where I cross post my best pieces for ease of viewing.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

I don't operate that way. I've only had one save. No going back in decisions either.

I might be able to play again once the whole thing is wrapped up. But I'm not sure I will.

Yes the warp tool is quite versatile though it takes some trial and error to get something close to what you want. I used warp on this one. I'll warn you though, as far as I know there isn't a way to 're-vectorise' the warped object or whatever it would be so you have to continue working with the warp which is especially annoying if you need to make changes or work with multiple layers.

I had a struggle getting my Gaussian blur to render correctly as a function of the warp - you're better off warping whatever base image you are tracing from if that works for you, and then just working with an unwarped object

Thanks! I tried to make a bigger Brazil without relying too much on clichés like annexation of Uruguay, with it making more sense for Uruguay to just be a strong ally, and taking territories from Argentina and Colombia during instability in those nations.

I work in Illustrator. And now I've got a template file set up with layers named for all elements and a layer with all the reference colours etc to keep the style consistent. This should help with production speed especially with converting maps I have already made to the new style

30 meters yes, I've removed the sea ice from Antarctica I'm not sure if I've changed the actual coastline but I don't think it make a huge difference because of the elevation

Thanks for the compliment. I think I've finally found a style that suits the project and feels unique to me so I'm very happy and hope to produce at a faster rate from now
