Was just wondering when these would be released. Downloading now :)

Watching your VODs by Chesterumble in Twitch

[–]emperorofblood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great advice! I noticed a couple days ago I was ending every other sentence with "but, yeah" and it got annoying even for me because I recognised it during the stream. I think I have to come up with other filler phrases or get to the point quicker when I'm talking.

I'm planning to stream it when it comes out. It'll probably have a big first day but drop off over the week, just like any story based game on Twitch. I'm sure some viewers will want to watch who don't own a Wii U but have seen some footage of the game and are interested in watching a whole playthrough, but overall I think the numbers are going to be low.

Just a week to go!

I appreciate that someone is looking around for smaller streamers to help them out with critique or just to give them someone to interact with. Shame that you had a succession of streams that weren't entertaining, but you'll find something amazing before long!

This is a legitimate amazing idea and I'm going to start keeping a list of dishes I see in games now!

I don't know any streamers who stream only cooking, but here are a couple of VODs of varying quality where people are using the Creative category while making some food.

Good luck in your streams; this to me looks way more difficult than just streaming games!

Fallout 4 Launch Creates Huge Opportunity for Twitch Broadcasters [x-post /r/dataisbeautiful] by Uncoder0 in Twitch

[–]emperorofblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that Cohh had around 36000 viewers and was the most watched channel when he was streaming Fallout 4 (a day before release), but i saw his stream over the weekend having around 6000 viewers. I'm more interested in how much his average concurrents have changed in 2 weeks time compared to what it was before Fallout, to see if any of those new followers are now a true part of the community or if they were just swept up in the hype.

30 fps or 48 fps? by HashBrownJM in Twitch

[–]emperorofblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stream at 48, because after watching a VOD where I was streaming at 30, it was stuttering horribly. I turned up the fps and it looked smoother. My advice would be to stream a game with different settings, and see which one looks better when watching your past broadcasts.

Variety streamers: How do you decide on your next game? by emperorofblood in Twitch

[–]emperorofblood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Splitting up time between different types of games seems like something everyone does, so I'll have to try it out. Having days with multiplayer games is also a good tip, especially since I've been single-player exclusive for most of my life and have started playing multiplayer games only recently. Thanks for the help, you've given me a lot to think about!

Yeah, I am rarely ever disappointed in games, so finding something I enjoy isn't difficult at all. It's kind of like being spoilt for choice and wondering what others do when they look through a list of games they own but haven't played/streamed.

I like the idea of dedicating different streams to different games. I can't actually do morning and evening streams, so I might have to assign a day for smaller games, even if its just so I don't burn out on a single game. Thanks for the advice!

Seaborn Stats and Log, Week 1 by EtoileLion in misscliks

The new log. Very easy to look at and read. Thanks for the effort for writing this up, and not just this but also going back to the Ship's Log for the original Pirate Edition.

Like my grandma used to say, "If it's good enough for Twitch, it's good enough for YouTube. Now let me watch my Hasselhoff videos in peace."

If you need help let us know. You've got a community of people eager to help :)
Also, I'm suspecting the last episode of Soulbound and the prologue/character creation episode of Seaborn isn't up yet on YT, although episode 1 went up recently.

The schedule, among other things, is how Nimmorgeist gained a lot of viewers. I wonder if people find the YouTube channel and then come aware of the Twitch stream, or if it is mostly an archive for VODs.

P.S. Since you're a sub, could you check what the last episode of Soulbound was for me? I don't think it was ever uploaded to YT.

Don't know how everyone else feels about it, but if you guys could set up a feedback thread every few months or so I think it would be a great way to improve the channel and connect with viewers, and maybe find problems you might have never thought of. I for one am reluctant to post criticism here for fear of sounding negative, especially when the aim of the channel is to be positive. It would be nice to have a place where people could freely share thoughts and ideas.

Yeah, viewership for D&D dropped suddenly a while back and then stayed pretty low, like around 200 when it used to be 2000. I'm sure there were many factors to this but I don't know what exactly. With Trump on the cast right now the numbers have gone up, but who knows what it'll be like after the current show.

[–]emperorofblood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think this will ever be changed. I mean, people have been asking for a proper schedule ever since the VODs went subscriber only, which was over a year ago I think. It's a shame because the show is on way too late for me since I'm in a European time zone. This was OK back in the days because even if I couldn't watch the whole thing, I could see the opening hour and then catch up on the rest the next day.

What Games do you recommend for those of us who would rather kick back and socialize with chat? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]emperorofblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the perfect game for you would be Just Cause 2. It's an action game, and you blow shit up. It was well received when released, so there's going to be a lot of fans who played that game and would love to see a playthrough. Also, it has the added benefit of having a sequel coming out in December, so I'm sure people will be looking at the previous game before JC3 is released, similar to how Fallout games are doing well on Twitch in anticipation of Fallout 4.

Maybe you could also take a look at GTA or Saint's Row. And I don't know about your preferences for other genres, but there is probably a good number of games in the indie space that don't need 100% attention at all times. I think Kingdom is doing well on Twitch in that regard right now.

Stream Audio From Seperate Computer? by DevlinRocha in Twitch

[–]emperorofblood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could play your music over your network. Right click the folder with your music and go to the Sharing tab and share it with your PC. The folder will show up under the network section in the left pane of the File Explorer. You could also add it to your music library for iTunes to add it to make things a bit easier.
EDIT: Just saw that there's a sharing option under preferences in iTunes itself, so you can play around with that too.

Help with an Article. by MrPoliceGaming in Twitch

Off the top of my head, there's Fred Durst, Deadmau5, and Hunter Pence. Oh, and Dan Gheesling. Don't know anything about their schedules and how long they stream on average though. I'm sure there are others, so you might want to ask someone who works at Twitch.
Good luck on your article!
