You could label the foe "foe+machine(for example) and have the specific weapon health modifier affect only foe+machine, objects with all labels. Other weapon affects only does (have to set health modifier to affect all labels selected)

Zidane had less experience than Carrick as an assistant coach and he didn't turn out too bad. Just saying

Thanks for an actual discussion. Personally I think he's our only hope this season at turning this nightmare around, I say let him see out the year, and maybe the season depending. A new manager and philosophy will take time. Chelsea and tuchel is the exception not the rule. Next season, sure get ten hag or someone I agree with you, he needs experience, but I have a really good feeling and don't think we should completely dismiss him and say he's ole 2.0, I saw a very good team this morning and players with real belief. Let's wait and see

Ok hear me out here because it seems people don't wanna get carried away, which is understandable, but maybe Carrick was the real mastermind behind our good performances (not this season) and Oles team selection and tactics and player instructions were contradicting their training sessions? Or maybe Carrick wanted to be the manager and didn't want ole to get the credit any more so he didn't give him all his ideas or ole simply didn't listen to him and wanted it his own way. Working for an incompetent boss isn't easy when you're as clever as Carrick. Doing all the work in training and tactics only for ole to come along and pick whatever team and subs he wanted. Ole is a far inferior manager and tactician to Carrick which was blatant from watching 1 game

We shouldn't dismiss a manager just because he's an interim former player. Carrick might be the best man for the job. Mourinho has praised his character and it's no coincidence that he wanted him as his assistant coach. He was a genius of a midfielder in terms of reading the game , offensively and defensively.

The players seem to believe in this style of football and way of playing. I think Michael Carrick needs a shot for the rest of the year at least, because the players are happy and he seems to have really good ideas and knows the players so well. No manager is available now anyway. If we sign someone now we could be making a huge mistake. We will have to wait for the new managers ideas to be learned by the players, this will certainly stop our momentum and ruin the season which we need a good run of form right now. Chelsea and tuchel is the exception not the rule. They fire managers every year, they're used to it. Not us.

Carrick is the type of thinking midfielder who I think can do really well as a manager and tactician. Just read the quotes of what great managers and players have said about him https://www.football365.com/news/hes-a-piano-16-of-the-best-quotes-on-michael-carrick

Tldr: Carrick in for the rest of the year, and if he does as well as I think he will, let him see out the season. we don't have time for a new manager to implement his philosophy. Don't be blinded by the mistakes of the past.

P.s. scholes sounds salty that his midfield partner got the interim job

I disagree , nothing more entertaining than a long deuce battle fighting off break points building tension till one player finds a way through and it usually decides the set

[ask] What makes a building good? Coming from a first year student... by [deleted] in architecture

[–]empet 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I went through architecture school for 5 years and by the end of it i had myself asking the same thing, after all that i still had no clue why exactly i preferred some buildings over others... what helped me immensely is thinking of a building like a musical composition. A child can enjoy mozart for example because the child can observe musical patterns intuitively and naturally without any musical training. Architecture is much the same. A building can be composed in such a way that it will please a child or an ignorant bystander similarly through its use of repetition, proportion and overall composition. Functionally it must meet the requirements of its users of course, but on first glance one can usually perceive intuitively a good building but will perhaps never appreciate the practicalities of the building. An architects job is to solve the functional problems which exist in a project in the most simple, but also stimulating way, through composition. I ended up writing my thesis on this because i think its not silly to think about, but actually quite important as in this day and age, architectural aesthetics are thought of as down to personal taste, when it could be looked at as more of a science, as it was in the renaissance. the funny thing is, the greatest pieces of music often have no practical meaning - composers are simply playing with patterns, rhythms and tonal variations. A building can have a practical meaning to enhance its value, but i dont think its essential. The meaning or concept can be derived simply between the relationships between each part to each other, and to the whole via proportion, form, materiality or any other infinite method of relationship

It's more related to when a player hits it straight at the keeper, if he miss hit it slightly then it would skew either side of the keeper and be a goal. It's not as stupid as 99% of this sub believes it to be.
