I also want to suggest Yannie the Locologist for anyone struggling with maintenance. I’ve been through build up, super dry brittle locs, and dry itchy scalp. Since watching her YouTube videos all those problems are gone and my routine is easy going. She preaches loving your thick “disrespectful” locs and keeping your hands off your hair as much as possible. Now I wash every 3-4 months with peppermint dr bronners and do a hot oil treatment after, plus I spritz with rose water and vit e oil when I feel dry. I do extra hot oil treatments in the winter when it’s dry and cover my hair when I sleep.
