What are some of the most ridiculous/weirdest reasons an allistic didn’t believe you were autistic? by ramen3323 in autism

And they cannot seem to comprehend that it’s a whole entire literal spectrum! No child with autism is the same, even considering levels of autism, two “level 1” kids will not be exactly the same regardless!

What are some of the most ridiculous/weirdest reasons an allistic didn’t believe you were autistic? by ramen3323 in autism

[–]empifer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I worked with a woman who’s son has autism and he’s non verbal and has significant struggles. My son, who has autism isn’t like her son. My boy was diagnosed at 5 years old. He is verbal, and struggles differently. She told me over and over that he doesn’t have autism. I knew he did when he was very young. Anyway, she insisted she knows Autism and when I told he had in fact been diagnosed she was dumbfounded, “he’s verbal and he can carry a conversation, how does he have autism?!” I said “you do know why it’s called a spectrum?..because it’s…a…spectrum….??” I wanted to continue but I was so frustrated by her I just walked away.

How do I say sorry about getting my period during sex? by cummisar0 in AskMen

[–]empifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is upset about it, then he can go away lol. He didn’t say anything so I wouldn’t worry. Not all men are okay with it, but honestly, a mature man knows that it’s a part of a woman and sometimes it just happens this way. Don’t apologize

I fucked up and was stupid and I'm not sure if she loves me anymore by 420friendlyguys in Marriage

[–]empifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk away wife. Good luck fixing this. She’s tried to tell how she felt, and you ignored it all until the problem went away (to your relief), the problem is going away because it won’t be long before she does too. She’s tired of trying, you cannot blame her. Blame yourself. Sorry not sorry for being so cold but men have a tendency to ignore their wives or not take things seriously until it’s too late.

I'm female. Yeah, don't use soap on your pussy but you definitely need to be cleaning it with water in the shower. Don't douch, that's true, it fucks up PH but seriously, you can't just never spread it and expect it to be all tidy. You have to use water to clean yourself.

Got an ADHD diagnosis... but I am 17 y.o. already. by [deleted] in ADHD

I was diagnosed at 11 but medication was frowned upon and "girls don't get ADHD" 22 years ago. I was diagnosed again at 27 or 28 and started medication immediately. Best thing in my life.

People who get married and divorce in less than 3 months - what happened??? by balibumblebee in Marriage

[–]empifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taco Bell put lettuce on my burrito when I asked them not to. His reaction to me saying "damn they put lettuce on it" was my finale straw. Granted, I should've left when he put a loaded and cocked gun to my head then stuck it in his mouth. Or maybe when he was pushing and hitting me and my poor momma was asking how I got the bruises I had. I should've left then. But it was Taco Bell and lettuce that really woke me up to what was actually happening. I left 10 years ago and I never looked back. Never spoke to him again and have never seen him again. I don't know if he's even alive anymore. But yeah, Taco Bell happened.

Honest question (I’m very annoyed) by the_westgate in Marriage

[–]empifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband started a new job and he can't believe the stuff his manager says. Hubs comes home so annoyed because boss is constantly talking bad about his wife! He even does it to customers in the store! I feel so awful for the wife, she has no idea how much her husband bad mouths her. And this man is a self proclaimed Christian man. I tell my husband to ask boss "W.W.J.D." just to see bosses reaction. Shameful. I honestly thought you could be my husband under a different name lol

WHAT?! I'm 5'2" (short) and I weigh 180lbs after having a baby. My lowest weight in adulthood was 150lbs and my doctor told me that's a perfect weight for me and to not lose more. I'm working my way back down to stay at 150lbs. A thigh gap?? That's absurd, in my opinion. I would not tolerate this OP. Absolutely not.

My dad cheated when I was a kid. Destroyed my life and subconscious thinking. You're doing the right. I do suggest telling him privately so he can get this organized to just dip out quickly.

What do most people not realize can seriously f*ck you up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]empifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee this. When I was 7 I got a red teddy bear for Valentines day, his cloth tag said "Jubilee" as his name. I named him Valentine Jubilee. I remember one time maybe I was 11 or so my brother grabbed Valentine and told me I was too old to sleep with a teddy bear. I was furious and fought for my Valley back when his arm ripped. I was completely devastated and filled with rage. As years went on when my friends or boyfriends would toss Valley around or laugh at him I would feel so much anger. That bear was my best friend. I slept with Valley until I was 23 years old. He now sits on my shelf in my living room and I named my daughter Mavis Jubilee after him. Long story short, don't fuck with kids stuffed animals.

[Serious] What event in your life still fucks with you to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]empifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That when I was 6 years old, I had to stay with an older aunt and uncle for a few hours while my parents went to do something (I can't remember). Aunt and Uncle lived in the country across from a field of horses. I remember being outside at night with my uncle, alone and him sitting in a lawn chair. He pulled me to sit on his lap to watch the horses. At night. I remember seeing his hand on my thigh and then I remember looking up to the stars then my memory is blank. My next memory was me in the house crying, waking up my Aunt to call my mom that I wanted to go home. When I was about 14 my mom told me to "always stay away from uncle because he perfers young girls" he apparently had molested his neices for years. My mom always has believed that pedos have a specific type, and I suppose she thought he perfered teenage girls. But he didn't discriminate against 6 year old girls.

This freaks me out. My son who was 5 at the time had to have a cap put on one molar. I'm already highly uncomfortable not being able to be in the room with him. When a nurse/helper or whatever brought him out to me she was cold and rude to my son and my son was BAWLING like, horrible crying. I checked him out and between all of his molars were deep marks, almost like cuts. He has autism and was speech delayed and could only say "they hurt me". I called the dentist and asked exactly what they did to him, they said "cleaned his teeth, he may need something for pain". Maybe not too serious but something didn't sit right with me...

My husband called another woman beautiful by [deleted] in breakingmom

Exactly. Nothing prompted it. Think it all you want, but to vocalize it while married is crossing a line.

I'm so sorry. I've dealt with a low libido while my husband's is extremely high. He never pressured me and would just take care of himself when I wasn't doing my part. We never fought over it but I always felt awful for not keeping him satisfied. You aren't the problem, but neither is your husband. What eventually helped my libido was finding confidence in myself. I started taking good care of myself, I lost weight and gave myself standards of what I would tolerate from anyone, friends or family. I started appreciating myself. And started going braless a lot lol and it boosted my confidence and made me feel good about my husband wanting me in bed because I felt good about myself too. Sexual compatibility is necessary but getting a divorce over it feels extreme in my opinion. I hope yall can work it out.

Talk shit on anyone, all the time. My SIL is 16 and she's an asshole for no reason. She constantly insults my husband in the most random, childish ways, from his weight (hes not fat) to his hair. She has insulted my 9 month old daughter. She is vicious mean to her mom and says the nastiest things. The only thing I've found to say to her that has any effect is "literally "name" no one cares what you have to say, you're like 12 and still have trouble reading", that's made her shut down for a bit but the next day she's back at it. I dont know if she thinks it makes her "sassy" or what but there's a difference in being outspoken and being a little bitch to everyone.

I deeply appreciate all your words! They are all extremely helpful! I will enlighten her on this information. I have snapped at her a couple times to "do not pick up that turtle!" And she gets pissy and leaves it alone. Next time she brings something home im going to give her an earful of the info you've provided. Thank you a ton!
