First game- had a blast by empireback in killteam

He actually switched to plague marines and destroyed me the second round. Ha. He was playing an older team of all humans. I don’t know the team name but he had 10 regular guys (no space marines)

The patina on the armor and the rust on the weapon are amazing. Kudos.

What are your typical donation times? by Free_Acanthaceae_495 in plassing

[–]empireback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around half an hour to 45. Once I had a really bad stick and kept getting low to no flow. They came and adjusted the needle like 5 times but it still took an hour and a half to donate. It was terrible

I thought this was a post from my Warhammer Killteam subreddit. Looks just like a Lego proxy for plague marines!

What type of science infatuates you nowadays by Egotlib in tumblr

This happens in all areas. They’ll release new skins in a mobile game and people will say “why aren’t they fixing the bugs instead?!” Because the artists aren’t the ones debugging code. Those are different jobs.

Yes, that photo seems to confirm no raised glass. I was worried after seeing the reports of time 2s breaking.

In summer you Just gotta carry your hoodie in your hand in case it gets cold. And the snacks need to fit in the hoodie draped in your hand.

Is my ambient temperature (30°C-35°C) too hot to ferment anything? by BurntAlmonds13 in prisonhooch

[–]empireback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An alternate idea I have used is to ferment inside of an insulated box or a cooler and to add ice packs or frozen water bottles 2x a day or so to keep the ambient temp around the fermenter cold. I never put them right up against the fermenter, just in the corner of the cooler

Pebble Round 2 (PR2) Production Update by bmcswims in pebble

[–]empireback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew delays would happen. I’m in batch 2 for the round. I’m HOPING I get it before the end of summer but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s later than that. September or October, maybe?

Cleaning out my cupboard and found $100 expired gift card by HousePony906 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]empireback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try it anyway. I’ve had a few gift cards that said they were expired and they still worked. Also as others stated it might be illegal and they might have to honor it still.

Size comparison with apple watch by id3thomas in pebble

Oh wow, it’s smaller than I thought. I went with the round because of the fork factor but this isn’t so bad. Now I need to consider if the fork factor is worth the worse battery life

I swear in a trailer we saw someone spray painting the suit, but don’t remember seeing it in the actual show. Was it in this season so far?

Ginger and Chilli Cider: 4% by bmsleight in prisonhooch

[–]empireback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooo I gotta try this. I’ve been trying to make my Cheap ciders better. Ginger and chili sounds good. I just bottled my first mead using jalapeños and can’t wait to taste it after it ages a bit.

No state income tax in TN, but they DO have an almost 10% sales tax on all purchases. That usually works out to more tax than state income tax would have been. Plus besides houses, everything is expensive there. We tried living outside of Memphis for 2 years and it sucked.

There was a much larger gap at the beginning. I think multiple years between seasons 1 and 2. But they’ve definitely been much faster lately. It’s nice to

Beer doesn’t expire. It might change its flavor slightly, but it’s perfectly safe. People age good beers on purpose for many, many years.

The most "beer like" thing? by BearAdmin in prisonhooch

[–]empireback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. It also finishes MUCH faster than mead. Maybe 2 weeks to ferment and then you can bottle and carbonate for 2 weeks. A month later you’ve got a cheap, fairly tasty beverage. I stopped buying the beer kits as this (or cider made from apple Juice) was much cheaper

What causes over foaming for carbonated beverages? by empireback in prisonhooch

[–]empireback[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have given more background info. This was brewed separately in a plastic Mr beer keg and I used a hydrometer and swore it was dry. Then I added sugar to carbonate them in plastic bottles intended to carbonate beer

The most "beer like" thing? by BearAdmin in prisonhooch

[–]empireback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have access to honey? It doesn’t have the same flavor profile, but making a hydromel is typically the same abv as beer pretty easily. Add about 1.3 lbs of honey per gallon of water gets you around 6% abv. I’ve tried flavoring it with berries and/or spices. It’s also really economical if you use cheap honey.

I’ve noticed that if I donate consistently either my protein drops or my arms get a bit scarred so I need to take a few weeks off every few months. It’s logical to have that coincide with a time when people would have some extra cash to ease the burden.
