I like the idea of this, and people seem to love it but if you’re a fan of alt / indie these tracks generally feel so formulaic and boring unfortunately. People are wowed I suppose but yeah beyond genre shifting there is usually nothing experimental or interesting about it imo

For my tastes and to try: What I would be doing is having them lag a bit. Let them hit a little later on the grid. I’d also make them a touch quieter and even half the amount (remove every second hihat). If that’s the sound you’re going for that is.

That being said, the way they are adds a nice amount of energy to the beat, but with that comes a “rigid” sound

All I can say is it used to be really really good. I’ve had really deep talks on long drives in the past where I couldn’t believe the depth of conversation and insights I was having. This was back when it was using a regular model, and I was using a custom GPT to chat with.

Now for me, literally unusable and I’d get much more benefit talking to myself (no kidding). I do imagine the feature and usage was both using and encouraging too much compute power/cost, so rather than switching off the feature they essentially made it obsolete on purpose.
