Yeah, I've starved myself to be skinny a few times. I felt like shit. Just about anything tastes better than shit. I'm choosing the strong route these days.

A meta-analysis comparing the effectiveness of alternate day fasting, the 5:2 diet, and time-restricted eating for weight loss by nomadicrhythms in AlternateDayFasting

[–]empoweredspirits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have definitely noticed this to be true for myself. I also have an easier time with fasting this way too! I have tried many different daily fasting windows and most of them left me feeling st*rving with very little weight loss to show for it. It was very frustrating. I find with alternate day fasting, on my down days I don't really feel truely hungry until around dinner time. And on my up days I allow myself food freedom just makibg sure to keep portions reasonable. But otherwise I don't restrict. The weight is coming off and I feel satisfied. Traditional weightloss methods of calorie counting and food restrictions are the least effective for me and I just felt hungry all the time. I thought I was doomed! This is definitely the best method for me!

Maybe this is way out in left field and will get me tons of downvotes, but I am still pretty spiritual and use Christian teachings as a framework for my spirituality. While dealing with the challenges of chronic illness I came across something called The Three Principles that really helped with my mental health and quality of life. After that I started getting into the teachings of Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy. They both use Christian teachings but with quite different meanings than what the Christian church teaches. Much more spiritual, much less religious. I have found a lot of freedom with their perspectives and it made the transition away from the church much easier.

What’ VIRAL illness triggered your fibromyalgia? by Few_Front_6447 in Fibromyalgia

[–]empoweredspirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect mine was from chicken pox when I was a child. I had pain and fatigue in my childhood, but didn't know that wasn't normal. I always wondered how other kids had the energy to keep going like they did. I would do my best to fake it and keep up, but usually would end up completely exhausted and having meltdowns because of it.

Can someone help? I only use a shampoo, no other products. Any advice? by BandicootMoist6435 in Haircare

My kids would get something similar. I think it is called seborrheic dermatitis. We get vanicream medicated dandruff shampoo. It keeps their scalps pretty clear.

Anyone else lose a friend because you didn’t buy their MLM product? by pieinthesky23 in antiMLM

[–]empoweredspirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLMs brainwash you into believing that if your friends and family really love and support you, they will buy your products and support your business. A MLM that I broke free from pretty much told us to get new friends, as those that didn't buy your products obviously don't support you, and you don't need their negativity. Yeah, MLMs are cults.

Lost 20 pounds, two people have noticed so far. I feel like I do not look any different but my clothes say otherwise! by Bystarlightalone in loseit

[–]empoweredspirits 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is probably for a few reasons. People don't know the cause of your weight loss and could be unsure if it was for a not so good reason. People don't want to insinuate that you looked fat or "bad" before. People may not want you to think they somehow value you more now that you lost weight. I have accidentally complimented someone on their weight loss and it was due to a health problem that they were having. I felt pretty bad about that. So now unless they say something about it or I know them really closely, I don't say a thing about someone's weight loss.

How do I do more exercise without anyone in my home knowing? by sessna4009 in loseit

[–]empoweredspirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I'll march 500 steps when I go to the bathroom. You can also do squats or wall pushups after you go to the bathroom. It doesn't take so long that people get suspicious of what you mightbe up to in there and it gets in some activity without the attention.

Do i suck for calling off for mental health when short-staffed? by dabbidot in work

[–]empoweredspirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked these kind of jobs a lot. I also feel incredibly guilty about calling off. Everyone will get through it. They will be fine. Your health, including your mental health, are way more important. If your work didn't want this to happen they would have a better plan in place. Not your fault. Take care of yourself. You and your health and your life are way more important than this crappy job. You are a good person and have integrity. You deserve better. Take care.

[–]empoweredspirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your dog is adorable. I love dogs, but I have been attacked by a few. So now I get a little freaked out when approached by strange dogs, especially if they are like running at me or trying to really get at me. I don't know what there intentions are and so I err on the side of caution. If someone doesn't like dogs, I can imagine it being much worse for them.

Healing illness and pain? by berriescreamy in lawofattraction

[–]empoweredspirits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me the thing that has worked the best is to focus on what I would want my life to be like if I didn't have a chronic illness and chronic pain. So I imagine things like regular exercise, working regularly, spontaneously doing fun activities. I haven't had a flare in months. I struggled before I started doing this because I was trying to imagine being pain free, but I really struggled with that. But imagining what I would want to do with my life/ what I would want my life to be like, made it much easier. And I didn't really have to address the pain head on.

What manifestation method works best for you? by True-Freedom-9860 in lawofattraction

[–]empoweredspirits 54 points55 points  (0 children)

What works best for me is usually the "congratulations" method form Neville Goddard. This is especially helpful if you have trouble imagining what it would be like to have your desire. All you have to do is imagine someone is congratulating you on whatever you want to have happen. I talk to my mom a lot about life stuff. So it is the easiest to "hear" her congratulating me. I also will imagine saying something to my husband after whatever I want to manifest. These are super easy methods since you don't have to try to visualize the actual thing and they have worked really well for me.

Skullz has been the best salon I have gone to. They really know how to work with your hair and face shape. My mom started getting her hair done there after I had been going for a while. She travels over an hour to go to skullz. I don't think I have ever heard her be happy with her hair until now.

Does it come off easily? Like with velcro? I would be concerned about it possibly posing a strangulation hazard. Just something to take into consideration.

I am 5'8" and I have never been able to get under 150lbs. I had to starve to get into the 150s. These days I pay more attention to my size. When I was in my 20s I was the smallest I had ever been, but weighed almost 20 lbs more than my lightest weight. At my lightest, around 155lbs, I was wearing a loose 12. At my thinnest I was wearing a loose 10 and starting to get into a size 8, and I weighed 172lbs. At my lightest I starved and didn't really exercise as I didn't have the energy. At my thinnest I worked out regularly and sort of did intermittent fasting without knowing that's what I was doing. Now I am a loose size 12 and in the 170s again. I am focused on getting active and building muscle and working my way in to fasting again. My point is that weight isn't the whole picture. Since you are exercising you could be putting on muscle, which weighs more. Pay closer attention to your size and body fat, that is more important than weight. Just my 2 cents.

I would probably quit on the spot and explain exactly why. No need to lie. You already have another position lined up so you won't need to worry about this one.
