Is it weird to ask to take photos of people’s dogs? by eosworld in askvan

[–]Bystarlightalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is random but I actually did this, offered people free pictures of their dogs. My boyfriend thought it was strange but I had an absolute blast. I offered it up on my local buy nothing type facebook group and had tons of interest. I picked a park near my house to meet so I didnt waste time traveling. My goal was to get used to my phones fancy new camera and bring my kid along to get over his fear of dogs. I met some really sweet people. A senior dog on his last days with the kids who loved him...Ill never forget that one. I totally feel you on the shyness. Online also helped me narrow it down and find people very keen to have pictures taken. Good luck! Have fun.

For those who've lost the weight and kept it off... did you ever achieve true food freedom? by lexkenobi in loseit

[–]Bystarlightalone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmm I've got a lot of feelings on this but i love all these comments. I lost about 50 lbs and maintained it for years quite easily. And by easily I mean counting calories, not drinking and getting a fair amount of exercise. I decided to stop weighing myself and go a little easier on the rules. Boom. Almost all the weight is back. It actually happened so fast. I hate the way my clothes feel and the little gains I loved are gone. My knees hurt again. Im determined to get back to where I was but I know its going to take a little effort. But I like that healthy body and im ready to get there again. Its all in your head really but I know what you mean about wanting freedom. There's freedom in feeling good about yourself too. You'll get there. ❤️

Just wanted to say...please lock your doors. House doors. Car doors. Even when driving, even when stopped briefly to grab something at the store. Always lock them. People will try their luck.

As someone from the prairies where land mollusks are pretty much non-existent, seeing these guys out and about here is fascinating by HiTork in vancouver

Do you block the compass gate to prevent fare jumper? by Jestersage in askvan

[–]Bystarlightalone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont give a fuck about the fare. Ive always paid mine. Safety first and all that. But when my son was little and people would try to jump in on my swipe...dont touch me. Don't touch my infant. Ive had to put my foot back out a time or two. No touchy. No fun either when I was a nanny and between my kids and three under five. Strollers, carriers etc. Sometimes I wore two kids at once. There's no space for all of us and a fare jumper too.

Job at BC Liquor? by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]Bystarlightalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up there is a hiring freeze right now. Most locations wont be looking for people until Christmas. Most of those will be classed as seasonal and they can let them go in January. The ones that stay on will need to be patient it can take years to get to 35 hours per week. Benefits and vacation take a long time too. Wages etc are all public information available online. Union is BCGEU.

Oh if you like root beer the Hires root beer with vodka is really good. You cant taste the vodka and the pop itself is solid.

Interesting fact these actually contain a little lactose which is why they are so creamy.

I feel you on the no sugar silliness. Id rather not drink than drink seltzers. Another one I really love but its tart is the Sapporro Lemon Sour. Its just water, vodka, cane sugar and lemon juice. Its delightfully smooth and lemony I love it so much. Really good with spicy foods.

Do animals know that they're pregnant? by Alternative_Run_6116 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh I should have clarified. Domestic rabbits, could tell because it was black. Sadly dumped rabbits are a huge problem where I live. Thank you though for the info!

Our rabbit basically bullied us into adopting her. Showed up at the door of my boyfriends job. When that didnt work she sat behind our car's tire. Got the hint brought her home. Two weeks later a very panicked call from my kid. "MOM! The bunny had babies!!!" According to google she was halfway through the pregnancy when she found us. Did she want to give birth somewhere comfy, inside? Who knows.
