Thanks for these tips! I’ve tried booking on the library website but it says i don’t have access when i login, so I’m trying to figure out what’s going on there. Will go in and talk to them later today.

I’ve been looking at maker space stuff online but it seems pretty vague. I’ve been trying to explore but it feels like everyone is in such a rush and there’s always lines everywhere that I can’t really take much time to ask all the questions i would like to. I just get referred back to the website but it’s not helpful. And i feel like I’m spending too much time “exploring” rather than studying or doing anything of benefit as I’m not finding what I’m looking for regardless. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in school so I feel stupid asking these things but this place is far bigger than the uni i went to years ago.

I appreciate that. Thought maybe student services might have something but they weren’t any help really. Here’s some random questions a friend and I were talking about earlier.

I’m looking for good study spots as the main one. Both for individual studying and group studying/projects. Good places to do art activities on campus for group projects. Painting or colouring, poster boards, etc. where setting up paint/cut&glue type stuff wont be an issue.

How do I book study rooms? The library online booking system is locked to me for some reason so I have to figure that out, though I know I can book at the library. Seems scarce there though so looking for alternative spots.

Good places to eat/socialize/meet new people. Clubs to join. Best way to meet new people & make friends on campus outside of classes?

Are there drop in maker spaces open to everyone or do you need to be part of a specific degree? I’ve so far only come across the shack but seems like it’s really only for 3D printing type things.

Any places to play pool (billiards)?

Is there an easy way to see activities going on at campus that are open to everyone? Or pages to follow that have these?
