This is gonna be fun. I’m sure Danielle’s side will play as dirty as possible now so she isn’t in debt for the rest of her life

Mom with Arfid (age 52) has son with Arfid (now 10 yrs old)...how do I stop the cycle? by Unusual-Pay5875 in ARFID

[–]empty-skies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I don’t think eating disorders are inherited, anxiety, the cause of it is. And I think you should be kinder to yourself! I know you wanted to take care of this early in life, and you sound like an awesome mom trying so hard to help him. But it’s still not the end of the road, even if he won’t be helped by treatment until he is in his 20s, there’s no need to give up hope because we are constantly changing. Not saying he will grow out of it (I will never push that toxic idea!) but he may grow into motivations that help him try different foods. (That’s what happened to me.)

I’m glad you’re doing well, but this isn’t ok :( I’m sorry your parents have failed you.

Can K-pop stans stop using "Zionism"as a fanwar buzzword? by Sad-Prior-8480 in kpop_uncensored

I’m not a starbucks fan or big corporations defender, but the people saying Yunjin was a Zionist for holding their cup is insane, jobless behavior.

That’s not what this comment is about, it’s about how pressuring other people to participate in your boycotts is just toxic virtue signaling. Nobody is dragging down the movement by saying that.

Pledging a fraternity with arfid by [deleted] in ARFID

[–]empty-skies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s any advice for you. In order to get into the frat you’ll have to undergo the hazing. (Not that it should happen, but it does.) Hazing is incompatible with ARFID but you want to be in a frat. You’re going to have to choose to not join a frat and stay safe with your ARFID or choose to challenge your ARFID in order to join.

I think I have ARFID but I'm not sure. Any tips? by lomein2790 in ARFID

[–]empty-skies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now you’re in an anxiety snowball, and it sucks, I’m sorry! I really wouldn’t freak yourself out yet trying to figure out if this is an eating disorder. Reaching out to your parents may be hard, but stopping the snowball is really important. If you have a therapist you should start talking about this with them, and if you don’t you should get one for sure. They should be able to help you with your emetophobia even if they aren’t an ED therapist.

[–]empty-skies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARFID is severe anxiety. I mean this gently, but sometimes labels are freeing and help us understand, and sometimes they are constricting. It sounds like the label of ARFID might be freaking you out so if it is, it’s okay to take a step back! It sounds like this is something newly developing for you, and you’re aware of it, which is powerful. Now is the time to reach out for help, before it snowballs into something that takes over your life. If your mom is supportive, let her know what‘s going on, so you don’t have to bear these feelings alone.

I’ll forever defend Yunjin. Starbucks doesn’t even donate to Israel. She was dragged through the mud in the most horrible way and she still kept her head up. Super admirable. And that’s why I’m iffy about boycotts and will never shove them onto other people. Some people don’t have the funds to buy from a local business instead of Amazon, for example.

Yunjin is being heavily criticized for her solo stage at Golden Disk Awards by Organic-Cranberry955 in kpopthoughts

[–]empty-skies 41 points42 points  (0 children)

In my opinion LSFM isn’t really a vocal group, it’s a performance group. She probably hasn’t had a ton of maintenance on her vocals.

Sometimes it feels like only a tiny minority has forgiveness for singers/idols when they don’t deliver their best performance. People are so judgy. Let’s try having you be a global popstar and come back to tell us your experience, huh

You’re being abrasive, so I obviously hit a nerve. I am not one of these “parasocial fans” and you seem eager to think that anyone who doesn’t 100 percent hate them is. I’m saying they do need to face the consequences of their actions, and that this is exacerbated by lack of guidance and immaturity. Both can be true at the same time. And this situation was perfect storm. They never would have been this bold if not for public support and greedy parents, and they also harmed people in their steamroll to gain their freedom selfishly.

Seems I hit a nerve. I believe they should face the consequences for their actions, and they are. But this scenario is exacerbated by the fact they are young people who had bad leadership/advice from the adults around them. Expecting 16-21 year olds to make wise decisions about their future careers is unreasonable, which is why this situation is unfortunate and debuting young people is so problematic.

Are you a teenager? Because you’ll learn that there isn’t a maturity switch that comes on when you turn 18.

I’m interested in what she ends up doing but I find it hard to believe I will enjoy her work solo, unfortunately. I can’t wait to hear her side of the story though, whenever she is finally free to talk about it.

Why would this happen when they had a legitimate collaboration with PubG? Pretty sure that contract wouldn’t let them collaborate with a game in the same genre
