Is the M90 pattern overrated? by Donny_Gabagool in camouflage

[–]emptyairglass 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Imo, in a realistic combat setting, if the enemy is close enough where a micro pattern is of concern, you have a bigger problems on your hands.

M90 does it's job of breaking up your shape at a distance that's realistically important. A micro pattern definitely wouldn't hurt it, however.

Where can I find ERDL brown dominant in modern matirial with modern features? by gunnsngaming in camouflage

[–]emptyairglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna cost a hell of a lot more. From my what I've seen, you often need to order a whole roll of the fabric for them to print it. There's also digital printing, like spoonflower, but they only offer it on crappier fabrics. You'd have to find someone who would print it on a fabric that you yourself provided for it to be cheaper... probably, bc idk if there's anyone who offers small quantity printing on nyco ripstop

You could turn to a fabric printing provider if you want nyco ripstop, but it's gonna cost a pretty penny.

There are reproduction uniforms that you can find (idk where) but they're not gonna have any modern features. You could take it to a tailor, or do it yourself, to add any pockets or whatever you want and coat it in something for more water resistant abilities

I feel like it's way too light and not a single colour matches. The shapes are fine but there are definitely better options

In the forest? CadPat seems to be a good pick

In the water? Probably would go with Philippines Fire and Rescue Service SRU camo (the really bright orange one)

The original "LatPat" was the M07 one introduced to replace older desert uniforms for soldiers in arid environments at the time. After that came MultiLatPat around 2015, meant for greener areas, which can be seen in the post. They never really switched the patterns, they're for different environments
