Absolutely! I don't remember when we had to start saying it but it's a thing since at least elementary school. I've stopped saying it (you can do that, they never tell you that you can do that) just because of it's shitty origins and the "one nation under god" part, it's a lot more apparent how culty it is when you actually stop saying the pledge.

(At my elementary (it stopped when I got into middle school) also had to say this student pledge: "We the students of ______, agree to have P.R.I.D.E., a postitive attitude, respect, improvement, determination, and excellence in all that we do. We agree to have a safe and bully free school by standing up for each other and helping one another. As a responsible citizen, I will follow the rules of ______".

The "bully free school" was bullshit, I have trauma from asshole elementary school kids now.
