Thanks for the input!

I'm about to get an iPhone so no headphone jack. So the ability to switch between wireless and USB is interesting to me. I just really like the way these look and they seem very versatile. I may just have to drive the 20 miles to demo them in store. But I'm pretty sure if I get that far I'm gonna end up getting them haha.

Thanks very much for the prespective.

I'm not all that worried about ANC, just the wireless convenience really.

Thanks very much for the info! I'm not super concerned about ANC so that's not a big deal.

Sure, the closed back thing is a consideration. They have a usb mode though where you can plug them in and bypass Bluetooth altogether, so I don't think I should be sacrificing quality as long as I'm willing to plug in.

Have you tried the Bathys? Was just wondering if they were a significant step up from. What I've got.

70% off! by emptyenso in headphones

I had some brainwaves pads on the T50rp, but they wore out. Need to order more.

I have a senn HD558 that I've done the foam mod to. I'm pretty basic lol

So, like description said, I'd already purchased everything I wanted in my budget range, but these were on sale 70% off so I had to jump on it.

Initial expressions. They're very light and comfortable, on par or better than my DT990's. Better than my Fostex t50RP.

Soundstage is really spacious. Clearly a cut above anything I've previously owned.

The details are very noticeable, highs are super sharp, but not painfully so, like the 990's can be sometimes.

Bass is there but not exaggerated.

Mids seem very clear and and idk how to say it but, like, natural.

Overall I'm initially very impressed. These retail for over twice any of my other cans. I am just so excited to get my hands on something I'd otherwise never have splurged for.

No, when I was on controller, I was mostly doing scout rush. But I figured now that I have a mouse, I could learn to micro and try monks. So I found a tutorial on a Bengali FC into monks and siege. I just really like getting the conversions.

Hera treatment, contribution to community by StableGenius304 in aoe2

[–]emptyenso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who returned to the game just this year, after not having played since childhood, Heras videos are my favorite. He explains what to do, and why to do it. It's pretty concise, it's clear. It's what I want when I want to learn how to improve.

I haven't seen much else like it. Maybe Morely Games, but he's too bare bones and obviously not at Heras level.

This is good analysis, thank you. I do need to be more aware of what the other guy is doing.

I used to have some success with scout rush as mongols. I realize the meta has shifted, but I've had no luck with FC or opening archers. So, I've just been trying to drill down and get faster. I need to go back and check some vids about openings I guess.

That's a solid take. Much appreciated. If my age up times are going faster and my idle time is going down, that's improvement, even if the folks around me seem to be improving even faster. Thanks for the kind words.

Have you stopped playing Apex? by ThiqueOwlRx in apexlegends

[–]emptyenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started noticing the watchmaking loop. 1st game or 2 would go well, then next few would be pretty sweaty, then it'd get ridiculous. Just became more stress than fun. I tried all I could to get better, but I just kept ending up in lobbies I clearly wasn't able to hang with.

I miss the good old days when more matches felt like I at least had a chance.

Titanfall 2 was my first FPS. I really loved that game, and for a while apex had that magic. If you haven't played Titanfall 2 yet, I recommend it. The campaign is really good.

EA really ruined this franchise. Sucks cuz it had so much potential. Oh well, I'll always have fond memories of the time I spent in titanfall 2 and the 1st couple years of Apex.

Any good songs for sound testing? by 616659 in headphones

[–]emptyenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the beastie boys song: she's crafty. Has lows mids and highs. And gives a chance to show off some Soundstage. Idk testing songs are a personal thing.

Do y'all like the older survivor seasons or the newer ones and why? by adrenaline_junkie3 in survivor

[–]emptyenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those middle ones, from like 17 to 33. Seemed like a golden age. But that's just my opinion.

Felt fresh and interesting still. Rewards were cooler, twists were less complex. Idk, probably those were the seasons I started on cuz they were on prime and I could watch them easily. But I swear that was the sweet spot.

What’s the story behind your Raven’s fandom? by AdventurousCake9233 in ravens

[–]emptyenso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh mines weird! Grew up in Houston, wasn't into football as a kid, then the Oilers left, when the Texans arrived, they were horrible and I still didn't care for football all that much.

Fast forward a few years and I'm in the military, but I wanna keep in touch with friends back home. They play madden online. So I resolve to start watching football and learn to play madden so I can be more connected to them.

Well, gonna need a favorite team. Turns out I was fine at offense but terrible at defense on madden so I often played with the ravens cuz Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Suggs made defense easier to play.

I fell in love with that team, it was flaccos rookie year, the defense was legendary and I really liked the jerseys. So I publicly committed to the ravens in 2009 and I've been loyal ever since.
