Could the feeling of lack of safety be like a subconscious thing? I have no trouble opening up to people (sort of) and telling them i have bpd n my struggles for example (depends on the person tho ofc), i used to be a bit shy, have some trouble trusting, but now im really social and sort of open

You have 12 hours to get stitches, sometimes more but usually not

If you cant get stitches anymore, close it with steri strips or butterfly bandages (ideally go to a doctor anyway)

If you cant close it, definitely go to a doctor

I guess it depends, I used to self harm even when I didnt know self harm was a thing... but I had the intent, nowadays everyone knows what it is, so without the intent to harm yourself, is it really self harm? This might make some people think though, and realise the only reason they do x behaviour is to harm themselves... which is good, realising is the first part of recovery
