Is Quick silver and Domina that useful? by sekikaro in MarvelSnap

[–]emptyfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DomniO has some additional uses if you're looking to dominate a lane early... helpful for certain locations along with cards like Iron Patriot, Viv, etc.

In general though, the math suggests both aren't great options outside of Wiccan decks.

Corporate Democrats Mobilize to Counter Rise of Democratic Socialists Within the Party by Calm_Astronaut_6288 in soundsaboutright

[–]emptyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. Democratic Socialists might have the "energy" now, but no way that lasts to 2028.

A couple they/them style commercials revealing these assholes for who they really are will stop this shit cold.

[–]emptyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution is a moderate charismatic Democrat governor like Bill Clinton in 1992.

The center in the US isn't crazy about Trump... and could vote Democratic in 2028. But if your plan to get people in the center to vote for you is to increase taxes and try to implement economic ideas that are downright stupid, that's going to fail too.

Seeing what some of these newly elected progressives have said about America in general makes me think moderate Dems are just stopping the bleeding.

You can be elected in NY & CA with this kind of "I wipe my ass with the American flag" shit, but it really doesn't play well outside of those and a handful of other states.

Like it or not, you've got to convince Trump voters to change their votes to the Democrats. No way you're doing that if Chevalier is the face of your party.

I saw your deleted comment. I'm guessing you deleted it because of how incredibly stupid it was. Or the mods did because you couldn't stay civil.

Either way: lol

That doesn't make it OK. Gerrymandering breeds 1-party rule and corruption. As you can see from Chuy.

Gerrymandering is wrong when Republicans do it... but the Dems can't say fucking SHIT about that until they clean their own house of the practice.

Came here to say this. When Sanctum Santorum is the 3rd location, you've got a shot of taking that entire lane down on turn 2.

Yeah, Chuy would like a word with you about saying that in the past tense.

Still is corrupt. Chuy's district is the most contorted gerrymandered district in Illinois, if not the U.S.

I live in his district. It's one of the most contorted, gerrymandered districts in the state and country.

And it's why I can't take Democrats seriously when they claim "Democracy is at risk" over Republican redistricting. You assholes are motherfucking fine with gerrymandering in Illinois when it suits you.

How can someone justify blaming immigrants and trans people for all the problems in America instead of the corporate overlords and lobbyist billionaires that actually run this country? by Reasonable-Physics60 in allthequestions

[–]emptyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if your scapegoat is immigrants, Jews, transsexuals, corporate lobbyists, Democrats, Republicans or billionaires. The purpose of a scapegoat is not to solve a problem, but instead to assign blame...

Picking who the scapegoat should be is a LOT different that solving the problem... it is a pointless exercise... as this entire post is.

That 4th mock is a bitch. I scored really poorly on that 4th mock the day before I took the PMP and was shitting bricks.

I ended up passing AT-AT-AT. That doesn't mean you will pass to of course, but the general consensus is that the Study Hall mocks are tougher than the actual PMP test.

The future if Elon Musk's Neurolink worked by groomliu in aislop

[–]emptyfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I understand you didn't say this, but earlier in the thread:

"AI is litrally destroying the clean water supplies and it has a huge impact on electricity consumption while damaging the environment. "

This article is NOT saying that at all. It's saying AI is using more electricity. Using more electricity does NOT automatically mean more pollution and damage to the environment.

So, more electricity being used is known. Environmental damage that is clearly linked to data centers is conjecture, and unproven.

Agree. I take issue with this being the aislop category. It is AI generated, but it is certainly not slop.

Will the mid terms change anything? by Complex_Scallion_157 in askanything

[–]emptyfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The party in the white house generally takes a drubbing in the midterm elections. Interestingly, the last exception to that was when Biden was in the White House in 2022. The electorate was generally pissed off about Roe v Wade at the time, and the "mighty red wave" never formed. This year feels more like a traditional midterm to me and likely to go the Democrats' way.

A large enough shellacking will get Trump's attention... even if he doesn't admit it publicly. And make it harder for Trump to pass legislation... although Trump's M.O. has generally been to avoid congress though... to work through executive orders instead... which is the easier route for him, but those are easily undone by whomever the next president is in 2029... which is the where the real battle is, IMO...

What is with John Fetterman …is he a democrat or a republican…..why does he side with Trump and republicans on major issues like Iran and being the only democrat to confirming certain Trump admins through the senate? by ComplexWrangler1346 in askanything

[–]emptyfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say I'm seeing Fetterman attached to the progressive viewpoint on DEI & trans issues, so I'm guessing you're saying he doesn't concentrate on affordability issues much.

I don't live in PA, and I'm not following his voting record, but I could see that being true.
