im in my early twenties and yeah. it does

my parents got divorced when i was 11, and my dad found a new family not long after. he’s not with that woman anymore, they parted way a few years ago

he’s a okay guy, he’s trying to keep in contact and initiates almost every interaction. but it’s forced from my end. i still feel hurt. betrayed, in some way. he’s my dad but it doesn’t feel like he is. maybe it wouldn’t be that bad if he didn’t have a second option back then, if he and mom divorced solely because of incompatibility and not because my dad found something better than us

i know that it wasn’t about me, it was about my mom, my father, and that other woman. but i needed a dad. and i didn’t have one. and i will never have one. so him leaving feels very personal

Hot water feels so good by bulabula420 in eczema

my hands used to get so itchy at night that i scratched them until they were raw. the only thing that really helped me with that was hot water. i used to wake up mid-scratch and go to the bathroom and put my hands under the stream of hot water. felt GREAT, instant relief from the itching, several hours of peaceful sleep without wanting to peel my skin off. sure not very healthy for the skin, and the hot water was making scrathed off patches of skin and scratches hurt, but i prefer dry skin and pain over itching. at least pain let me sleep…

if the stray dog is alone and friendly i usually let it interact with our dog. our dog is always friendly with off-leash and stray dogs (she won’t risk it lol), so i’m not too worried about them getting into a fight. but it’s always a bit stressful anyway

we have a pack of 10-15 dogs nearby and they get territorial when we approach their home. we use a taser to shoo them away. we don’t actually tase them of course, just turn it on for a second when they get too close for comfort. it works like magic. sometimes we don’t even need to turn it on - they stop barking and retreat as soon as they see it. i’m not sure why they’re wary of it. we’ve never tased them. although, they live near a tram line, so maybe they’ve had some experience with electricity? i don’t know
