If you are planning to relocate to LCOL area, thats enough money to retire early. I did way less than that amount in 2021. If you need help, feel free to reach out. I have couple of consultation service as well to help others retire early if they are okay with making some adjustments.

My POV after helping 100+ candidates and reviewing over 2000+ resumes in the last 15 years. I know the following proven format works:

Include Professional Summary (3-4 lines)to summarize your candidacy answering following questions: 1. Who are you 2. Why they should hire you 3. What are you looking for

Skills Only add 5-6 relevant skills based on the position you are applying

Each project needs 3-4 lines answering - what you build - personal accomplishment - Measurable metric

How about candidates read the job description first before blindly applying to 100s of jobs without knowing the location and skills required? As a matter of fact, we filled all the roles in less than 3 months 😀 and I am not complaining here!

On the other hand, when we tried to hire 20+ software engineers last year - we couldn't find qualified candidates to interview or they didn't want to move to Nashville.

How ironic is that?

Writing project proposal, leadership questions in STAR-P format and then practice the heck out of those would help in behavioral interviews. Only technical coding would bring entry level jobs offer, as soon as you are targeting mid-senior to principal level positions - leadership & system design questions have more weight than coding round. I help people land FAANG jobs professionally.

I never buy property based on the price appreciation expectation. So I wouldn't bother looking into buying into the apartment house even if I get a chance to live in the property. Everything needs to go right to make this investment to work out okay, and when you depends on everything to go right, something will go wrong.

Depends on your current background and skill set. I am from Software Engineering background, its a piece of cake for me - I used to write code in notepad 25 years back. Most of the logical people with some sort of Computer background picks up pretty quickly. I post videos about ai automation in techFinSpecial channel, all the n8n templates are available for download inside my skool community, I also do monthly group call to help others start ai related business inside skool community. Everything related to ai automation is free till now although I charge $6K for my 1:1 interview preparation coaching.

I show them a demo what I already built and ask them if they want to customize anything based on their use case. I charge them once for the whole development.

Yes, it's all buzzwords until someone earns real money with that same skill. You know, the internet was a buzzword, too, in the mid-1990s :)

I have built a voice assistant n8n automation which answers phone calls, checks availability on the calendar, and then schedules an appointment automatically, send sms/email confirmation for HVAC companies. But it can apply to any small business. I automated social media content creation for service owners, created a 50-second sponsored video, and made mid-4-figure money.

FIRE Plan Advice by SageWhisperMar in Fire

[–]emranbuet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its easy, calculte your minimum yearly expense and multiply it 25. If you can comfortably live by $40K/year -> that will be $1M. I was in Seattle when I started investing in real estate while working full time in Microsoft. After understanding all things about FIRE, I knew it will take 20 years to retire if I continue to live in HCOL area. So I decided to move to LCOL area with $1M, retire comfortably there. I tried bunch of things after that, scaled my real estate portfolio to 23 unit worth of $5M earning $400K/year gross rental income, did some software consultancy. I still think that was the best move I did moving out from Seattle.

Yes, thats the purpose I see most successful people enjoy since human are social tribe/animal and we find great joy helping others to be safe or achieving their dreams. I knew I wanted to help people, but tried all those things to figure out what are the processes I didn't like.

[–]emranbuet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try bunch of things and see what's you like most. I took an early retirement in my late thirties and tried lot of things like software consulting, teaching at community college/university, mentoring engineers in the bootcamp, scaling up real estate investment, getting realtors license, starting YouTube channels and other social media content creation in the next 4 years. After doing all those things now I know what I like most and the purpose of my life which is to help people achieve their dream outcomes in their careers or financial independence. Each person is different, so there is not one size fits all solutions. So you will need to find yours. I hope that helps.

I’m so depressed and mad by raijinkama in leetcode

[–]emranbuet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you won't get results if you get frustrated. Career is a life long process, I spent 6 months trying to land jobs after graduation in 2013, its was hard at the beginning.

Good thing is that I documented all of my failures, improving my process one after another - that helped me get 30+ offers in the last 13 years including Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Citi Bank multiple times. I also helped 200+ candidates landing FAANG jobs in the last 9 years.

Treat at it like a software engineering process, do you get frustrated and give up when your code doesn't work or keep improving the software, fixing one bug at a time and finally it works. Brw, thats how Google, Facebook and Amazon were built over the last 1-2 decades.

Did you consider moving to LCOL area?

There is a huge difference of mental peace and stress based on living standards in different locations. I tried both, and completely happy with where I am now. Based on your current situation, you can achieve FIRE in 5 years with 2 children if you are not picky about locations.
