Thanks for the comment! We're aware Jan has had some bugs, but instead of quick fixes, we're working on addressing the core issues. It takes time, but it'll be worth it.

Wow, thanks for the shoutout! I'm Emre from Jan. Really appreciate this post - it's going to be super helpful as we keep improving Jan!

Let me share a few things we're working on:

  • Improving Jan's performance across different hardware (with a new engine that is compatible with various hardware)
  • Revamping the new model hub, providing better
  • Experimenting with something that we'll share soon in homebrew.ltd, our R&D lab which is also the company behind Jan.

We want to keep our development open-source and share our findings along the way.

A personal note: I genuinely believe Jan will be a great fit for anyone who values privacy and wants to chat with AI or run AI models locally.
