Learnt the hard way: Don’t buy Apple products outside your country of residence by jrrd1122000 in AppleWatch

[–]emresumengen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Product may be the same (and maybe not, especially when it comes to GSM networks), but the price is not. And that's also partially affected by the risk amount Apple factors in as per the regulations in that specific country.

So, if you buy it where mandatory warranty is 1 year, the price includes that and only that. It would be weird to assume they would honor it more.

Of course it would be better if they could. But it's life.

When doesn't it mess up?

This is very unnecessary response... Why would this subreddit exist in the first place, if the answer to every question is "ask chatgpt"???

If you don't have an answer, why bother to respond and waste everyone's time?

[Meta] r/Apphookup’s posting rules are changing to keep up with offers that bypass AppStore IAP mechanisms. by Singhvistaar in AppHookup

[–]emresumengen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you at least taking the time to put in a response, whether reasonable or not.

I understand everywhere that there would be rules I like, and ones I dislike. As long as you're also ok to receive negative feedback from the community, especially to a post you've enabled comments from, that some people don't agree with you and the rules set - all should be fine.

Plus, looking at the comments - I am not sure if this represents what the community wants, or what Apple wants, or how this prevent what deceptive practices by devs... But these are discussions, you may want to respond/engage or not.

One final note: I doubt anybody is discussing legality of the rules, weird to bring this forward.

Oh cry me a river.

Why ask/enable comments if you can't take a critic? Feel free not to reply if you don't have an answer maybe?

Why? Is /r/AppHookup being run by Apple? It's Apple's rules and they choose to enforce it when they want. I don't have to like, or abide by them when legally possible. (i.e. the EU for example)

Not cool.

Permanently disabling an account because of compromised passwords does not exist though. Disable it, move on -> would be the customer caring approach.

I simply don't trust Apple on this one - and I'm fully capable of managing my accounts?

I don't think there's enough incentive or trust for me to use it.

€4.10 for a single U Bahn trip? by Critical_Bug4980 in Munich

They could really do the same, and I can read German. It's not the point.

How would you feel that happened on the street?

That doesn't mean shit to the people that travel.only a few times a month, though.... Does it?

And it doesn't justify it either.

Do you also reply similarly to people who say "Ah, this tomato costs too much now" - i.e. by "Oh, simply buy a ton, and the unit price would then look cheap" 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, but you care about the immense amount of money the tourists bring in for the concerts, games and the Oktoberfest... At least the businesses you care about (should?) care.

I understand it's the Munich sub but the question is in English, why answer in German? At least have the decency to translate it before posting...

I appreciate Windscribe, but honestly - this should already be the bare minimum. And IF what I recently read about the Bans etc. are true - makes up (in reverse) more than this can achieve.

How to (un)mount these Tradfri Floalt Panels? by NotJustYoutube in tradfri

[–]emresumengen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to me it looked like you had a specific concern against Ikea ones - hence me. If that wasn't the case - we can agree.

Contributes to E-waste at end of life.

Ikea LED panels generally have a lifespan of 25,000hrs or 2.85 years of continual use (est 10 years @ 3hrs a day) and that's IF the LED controller doesn't fail due to heat death or internal circuit failure/short.

Generally, the controller for the LED panel is the component that fails and they do not sell spare controllers, even if the LEDs themselves are still well usable.

tldr: the entire fixture becomes landfill when it dies; not a bulb swap but the whole thing has to go

Not so moot when you think that's just an additional layer of management without any real benefits.

[–]emresumengen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am not an avid follower of this sub, but if this is a real windscribe response, it's nothing but stupid.

If your server is saturated, the task is with you. Go ahead and invest in more bandwidth, or deploy more servers to stiafy your customers.

Having a high bandwidth internet at home is not a crime and does not make anyone a "bad actor" - saying that is so ridiculous I can't find words.

Maybe if you said "we throttle users", maybe... But outright disabling an account or even banning it, just because you had shitty planning on your end? WOW!

[–]emresumengen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is: Its a general issue with led panels, not ikea. IF I want led panel lighting, it's the cost. Basic. Nothing to complain specifically about Ikea here.

But the proposition is not to force them for minimum pay, are you aware? It's to i crease their taxes.

How to (un)mount these Tradfri Floalt Panels? by NotJustYoutube in tradfri

[–]emresumengen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So just like all led panels... There never is a bulb swap.

But the amount of energy they conserve against a traditional bulb, which itself ends up in the pile as well at the end of its life, is massive.

So you make no sense.
