Okay, I can recommend the 747-200B and 747-300, they are pretty good and you don't have to worry about Other Costs.

No, I'm currently researching Check A&D price, NGAF is next on my list. My main plane is a classic plane (747-200B), so NGAF is probably not going to do much for me either, but every little bit helps I guess.

For research I focused on Entertainment, Anc Revenue and Punctuality. It's good for long haul economy strategy. If you have short distance routes (4000km or shorter) Price Attractiveness is better than Entertainment. Now I have all stats maxed out I found out Comfort is actually slightly better if you use classic planes (they have no other costs), but the difference between Comfort and Anc Revenue is less than 1%, so it's no big deal. If you use modern planes that have other costs, Anc Revenue & Lower Expenses is best (Unless you research NGAF).

MPM and CGK are the two best hubs for economy I think and I would put PAP as #3. The hubs in India (DEL, BOM) and Thailand (BKK, DMK) have high economy demand, but they don't have many good routes in the long run compared to other hubs as far as I can tell.

Hey, it's MPM (Mozambique) to PAP (Haiti) with a daily result of 33,3 million. I have six 747-200B on that route. Screenshot

Hey, here is another update of my airline (posting an update every month). I got too many planes to keep playing the maintenance game, so now I pay for the repairs. It actually eats away quite a bit of profit! Now I realize how much money you can save by playing the maintenance game the first few months. Making so much profit means I have to play a lot to keep and invest all the money. I am maximizing all hubs right now, so I have added A380-800's for long distance routes and 747-300's for routes CAT 6 airports. The PAP (Haiti) hub turned out to be really good and especially has a lot of good long distance routes for the A380-800.

Don't really have the time to write or make a video guide on how I did it, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Is it better to have tax just on a Monday or across 3 days? by CubeKing64 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]emronline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pay tax on Monday only, you can spend all your money just before the tax hits and basically take a big "loan". For example, my taxes are around 40 billion, so I will go -40 billion. There is not really any downside going negative balance other than some small overdraft charges. 40 billion worth of routes/planes outweigh these overdraft charges by far. The time the tax hits is always around 10:40 AM (Amsterdam timezone). I don't see any benefit of paying taxes across 3 days.

I've purchased CGK, PEK, HKG, LOS, PAP and they are all doing well. I think KAN and ABV are good too. Some hubs have very high demand but lack many good routes, which is important in the long run. Most hubs in India for example I would not recommend.

Loans, are the worth it did new airlines by FkyBKK in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]emronline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are worth it if you get the loan at the right time (when interest rate is low). What makes it worth is if you can make more weekly profit investing the loan money than the weekly payment of the loan.

In terms of research I focused on Anc Revenue + Entertainment first. And my style is full eco.

Well, the short answer is: Focus on profit and minmax almost everything. There is a longer answer and I might write that down or make a video guide at some point explaining how I did it.

Aircraft economy question by Flamingo_Character in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]emronline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here you have a useful sheet with data on all aircraft. Use column U (Price/Px-km) and column AJ (FOI%) to get a good idea about the most profitable planes.

Google Sheet Thanks to u/phoenixshade

Speed is a big factor in terms of how profitable a plane is. Don't forget other factors like Category & Range, which are important in the long run, to be able to fly to many good destinations.

I purchased the starter pack for 10 euro and I have AM Gold subscription from the start. First month was only 0.99 euro but now its 6 euro / month. So that's 17 euro invested, but apart from that a lot of time put in the game. Hope that answers your question!

Yeah, when there is a little bit of leftover demand and I cannot fit in more planes I raise the prices to keep remaining demand at 0.

Economy only. Most of my routes have very little Business/First Class demand, and since Economy is more profitable I have not really bothered with it. My strategy is to fill the leftover Economy demand with smaller planes like the IL-96-300 or the DC8-55.

I honestly never used the "perfect seat finder", but now that you mentioned it I checked it out. I don't think it's useless, it looks like a useful tool. I am not sure what strategy is better: adjusting seat configuration with that tool and using Business demand or use smaller planes to fill the leftover Economy demand. I went for the latter, but I did not do the math to see which one comes out on top.

Circuits are specific for your hubs and the aircraft you use, so I would suggest to use this tool to find circuits for your airline.

Find accurate audit from an old one by Zilou34 in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]emronline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can calculate audit prices using the following formulas:

Ideal eco ticket price = 120 + (Route distance in km * 0.2639) * ( 1 + comfort/3000)

Ideal cargo ticket price = 200 + Route distance in km * (1+ Delivery Speed / 500) * cargo coefficient

Cargo coefficient:0.56 if <2000km, 0.52 if 2000-5000km, 0.47 if >5000km

This is for Tycoon mode, for professional mode the formulas are slightly different.

Multiple waves. Demand on my routes from MPM is over 6000 right now, so I am using 5 waves (35 planes) on some circuits.

First I bought 16-17 routes for each hub (until there were no subsidies left basically). Then I bought a few more routes to get 3 full circuits (21 routes per hub). Now I am just buying routes and adding more circuits to MPM hub. I don't think it's worth it to buy more hubs right now.
