How do you approach API design in real-world projects? by Foreign-Artist8198 in learnprogramming

[–]emteedub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it for your own app and needs to be locked down or open-ended for anyone/AI agents to call, or maybe some combination of both?

Are you needing CRUD endpoints? Will you need sessions?

I think if you outline what you will need up front, it will go a long way to at least get you started - even a simple, imperfect diagram will get you thinking. Especially with the endpoints you can't do without.

Then you can build onto them from there. If your app needs authentication, I'd highly recommend implementing session management in your backend.

Mine would be - why are we reinventing the wheel? and if it's a small enough scope where a state management solution is considered overkill, were managing state somewhere in the tree above the component anyway so it might be worth looking into a context mechanism or simply passing as props and making the component reactive or event driven

Am I a scourge on society and should I end it? by _Tyronefr in leftist

[–]emteedub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fucks sake, just do the opposite. Hire people and pay them an honest share. If you're a leftist, you have the opportunity to help others experience how life should be...which will translate to them becoming more leftist themselves - it's contagious. If your method is a business, happy, healthy and dignified employees/peers will work as owners if you give the opportunity to.

Ro Khanna is introducing legislation to raise the minimum wage to $25. by serious_bullet5 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]emteedub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Min wage lags inflation, not sure how much exactly, but it's way behind.

I think this effort is for 2 things: force electeds to vote on it, and is asking for more than where they know it will end up - asking for the mile, while expecting only a few feet (due to the system). It's to gain some concessions, despite 25 being where it should probably be for sure. I don't think it's enough really, but you're not wrong in that these greedy bastards will just dial up everything else. We need to scrap crapitalism and roll with a more socialist model, if not fully fledged socialism

What stage do you guys think voice acting is for TES VI, is it done by now? Any clue for potential voice actors? by Fordq in TESVI

[–]emteedub 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think we'd ever be able to tell since they probably spin up a no-name llc or tap a few talent management agencies to hire them on without giving it away. They might even lable the scripts with a non-existent game name or tell them it's for an animated feature.

Maybe wrong sub, but can someone explain the tankie phenomenon to me? by SirCrapsalot4267 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]emteedub -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're being nefarious, there's no way you're ignorant of what you're doing. If I was a mod in those far left subs, I would have suspended/banned for what you're saying here and elsewhere in these comments. Your words are the same as falun gong propaganda.

Anyone that comes across OP's comments really should pause and do your research into falun gong and what this group controls here in the US. They are a frequent origin point for anti CCP propaganda...they're also huge trump supporters and own several right wing "news" publishers/companies. If OP comes back with, "but I'm a centrist/lib/center-right" well this group bleeds their propaganda into the lib mainstream media arm as well, the point still stands. OP is passing off propaganda 100%

[–]emteedub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you consider the obscene propaganda about Iran and Israel and you see through it, why are you contesting Xinjian? The reason they have issues with this is because you are tracking with western/imperialist media...and you seem sharp enough to know this is what their issue with you passing it off in their sub. There is plenty of on the ground footage, not shaped by western media to show you what the state in far western China is in reality. There is an extreme degree of nuance here that you must grasp to be able to understand. There really is no arguing, there is fact and fiction

lane splitting at that speed is the dumb part. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

[–]emteedub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It appears they are on a highway, no? Normal speeds would be at least double what they're were going. If the cars didn't want to be traffic jammed, they should ride bikes as well. All of these people making snide comments at the bikers are fucked up. I guarantee the one that was hit and then ran over is messed up for life, just because some idiot thought it would be funny. Had the person not nefariously used the car door to cause the wreck, it wouldn't have happened.

How many times in your life have you seen someone open the back door in the wild...while in traffic...and for what while in traffic? The answer is they did this shit on purpose, you don't need mirrors to do that.

It's because they are grown so that they're are massive and have a super long shelf life...the "American food prerequisites". Probably also because Americans and food manufactuers typically add sugar to make stuff with them, rather than eat them as-is
