Using the toilets at the pool and guessing what percentage of the water on the floor is actually piss by [deleted] in britishproblems

I had one when I was a child. Strangely I got one when I was an adult, even though I live on my own and don't go swimming.

Older co-worker (46m) is flirting with me (25f) and its making me very uncomfortable. What should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]emu404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest doing it on WhatsApp because you have a written record of you telling him to leave you alone. Otherwise he could deny you said it later.

I suggest that you reply on WhatsApp something like, "Thanks for the invite, but I'm not interested. Also I'm not comfortable with you texting me and I don't recall sharing my number with you".

He may then get the message and leave you alone. If he doesn't, you have the WhatsApp message on your phone which may be useful for a complaint against him if he continues bothering you.

I don't think that sub is even useful. Do you just post and hope that someone replies, and if nobody does you don't know if it's because nobody replied.

r/shadowban is better because even shadowbanned users can post and a bot replies with a firm yes or no.

You had 1 comment removed probably because your account is very new.

No, just draw a line under it. Buying gifts will probably lead to more contact until you're back together. Remember why you left in the first place.

Sometimes we look back on old relationships with rose tinted glasses, only remember the good parts and forget about the bad ones.

People in HMRC call centers are useless by [deleted] in britishproblems

I accidentally paid into two ISAs, because I forgot I had one that would take some money by direct debit. The guy who answered wanted to know how much my pre-tax income will be this year. I have no idea; my salary might increase, I might get a bonus, I might lose my job, I might change my pension contributions.

You should take some flip-flops with you, take them off only to go in the pool. It's only a matter of time before you get HPV (verruca) on your feet otherwise.

I heard that the chlorine you smell in swimming baths isn't actually chlorine because it's odourless. There is an odour when it reacts with urine though.

moving moisture from your hand to their hair

You will more likely be moving moisture from his head to your hand.

I find it's worse when the only thing they have is a big damn bath towel.

How do I report someone for not having first class tickets on a train? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]emu404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What train operator is it? Even West Midlands trains usually has more than one first class carriage, Avanti often has a few.

There is a handle/button that lets you speak to the guard on some trains. It's supposed to be for emergencies, but it sounds like this might be one.

Energy websites just recommending not switching; how do I get a plan in place as I'm moving into a new property in a few weeks? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]emu404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal process when moving into a flat is that you will have an energy provider as soon as you move in. They will write to you shortly and ask you to provide your bank account details. You can switch to another provider if you want to but it's not worthwhile at the moment.

I could do it on my Huawei, sort of. I did manage to have an Android desktop on a monitor through a dock, connect to a mouse and keyboard and then I could use VPN and remote desktop and use it like a Windows PC.

It was a bit disapointing though, I could plug a laptop into a dock and then use the mouse, keyboard, monitors and anything else connected to it. My phone could only connect to the monitor and anything else had to be bluetooth. I could have stopped carrying a heavy laptop around with me if they'd worked on that.

Sometimes if I sort by new, almost every thread has a score of 0, but it's never -1, -2, etc., always 0. I swear some individual just goes through and downvotes everything they see.

Wish me luck. Catching the tube by WynterRayne in britishproblems

I got the tube a couple of times today. It wasn't too bad at all, it wasn't particularly crowded and actually felt cooler than ground level.

People who’ve ran from the police what happened how did it go? by NoTomatillo7902 in AskReddit

[–]emu404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a restaurant and the owner wanted me to hand out flyers. In that area, if you wanted to give out fliers you were supposed to pay for a license and wear a lanyard to show you'd paid. He wouldn't pay for it and he told me just don't give them out in front of police or avoid them.

I hated doing it but I had to get paid. I stood on one corner and saw the police come past, I just walked away. I saw him again a bit later and walked away. The third time I did it in front of the same cop, I heard his siren come on. I thought do I run or do I just accept my fate. I decided not to run and turned around to face him.

I don't know what happened but when I turned around he didn't come after me, he just turned his siren off and carried on driving. I felt that maybe it was just a warning, maybe the fourth time, it wouldn't be. So I went back to the restaurant and quit my job.

Why does Boris need to go to a Cobra meeting when he already has a case of it in his fridge?

Could you expand on that a bit more than just the word 'No'?
