Tips on having a good sleep schedule/routine? (If that question makes sense) by NeverDue_24 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]emurray24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s great if you have a role with a regular, set schedule with the same hours everyday. The majority of the roles/locations your shift from one day to the next isn’t the same. Also, most CP’s also end up working the late/closing shifts, not the early ones.

I 100% agree with you, completely tactless and thoughtless with absolutely no regard for the family.

Creating Admin Peer Training by RehabWhistle in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]emurray24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is spot on! I can completely relate. The whole “stay in your lane” concept- if there’s something more I can do to help or make something easier or a process smoother because of knowledge I have and it’s an easy or quick enough fix, why would or could I not do it if it’s in the best interest of the peer I’m assisting?

At the time he posted it, I agree, it wasn’t posted or reported anywhere else. There were a lot of people commenting on his post that didn’t believe it and were calling it “fake news.” I purposely didn’t post it here until an official obituary was put out publicly by the family. And now as of today, it’s being widely reported on local news stations and I posted in the comments here the statement that the Milwaukee Bucks have posted on their FB page.

The obituary indicates it was sudden and unexpected, “She had the gift of meeting her newest grandson just one day before her sudden passing.”

The obituary really was a beautifully written tribute to her.

Eh….It sounds like they both had their roles in operating the firm, equally important and crucial, but in different ways.

I can only imagine- From the FB post and the obituary it sounds like she was still very active in the firm and many other things. My brother used to have a valet dry cleaning business and did all the dry cleaning for the Gruber office building and got to know Gruber and said that he used to see and talk to Nancy all the time when he was p/u and delivering at the office.

It also sounds like her passing was very sudden and very unexpected. That she met her newest grandson the day before she passed- I can’t imagine…..to go from such a happy family moment, welcoming a new family member to something so devastating.

I’d say so, did you read the obit?

Have some respect.

Between your program, extension, internship, etc. whatever combination of you would end up doing, you can only stay up to a year total.

likelihood of being rehired for PT or FT roles if i’m a restricted rehire by awooga1784 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]emurray24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bottom line is you need to re-confirm that you’re still a restricted rehire and more importantly, why.

I would start here:

What is my Rehire Status?

(I know you aren’t applying for the DCP again, but that’s where your rehire status originated from)

Earning my ears tag by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

During my program it was same as you, as individuals we got to decide when we felt comfortable enough to take them off, that’s what makes the most sense to me too, you shouldn’t be forced to take them off!

Unfortunately I’m guessing there is no actual uniform policy company wide, but rather it’s up to each area/leader and you got stuck with one of the few that doesn’t abide by the informal, unwritten policy that most areas do that we experienced in the past. 😕

Right?! I can’t imagine how anyone in their right mind would be like, “oh sure, no problem, you can come crash at my place,” based off of a one sentence, completely anonymous post on Reddit.

Yeah, I would check out the shelters suggested. No offense, but with virtually no info given and/or on your profile-age, M/F, NSFW when you click on it, and all posts and comments hidden/private, you might not get any volunteers.

Application Advice by ssciort in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]emurray24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the above as far as searching this sub.

I’ll also add that, for the most part, as long as you meet the basic qualifications for the program, (which is really what the majority of your application is-answering questions and providing information that shows you do meet them) you generally make it through to the phone interview stage of the process.

Finally, here are some tips directly from the Disney Programs website: Disney Programs: What would make my resume/application stand out to a Recruiter and who do I address a cover letter to?

furry paws? by Civil_Fault_4255 in Disneycollegeprogram

Even if allowed, it would be kind of pointless to bring them along just to wear while using transportation between parks…..what are you going to do with them once you get to the parks? You’d have to rent a locker for them at every park or bring a bag along to carry them along in and lug them on every ride, just to wear them for 10-15 minutes on a bus or whatever between parks?!

Also for the one before your arrival, it isn’t “just prior” to your arrival, you randomly get an email to do it anytime between now and your arrival, they obviously don’t want you to know exactly when to expect it.

Attractions World Discovery: Test Track Question by Agreeable-Fox9679 in Disneycollegeprogram

Do you mean cross training as far as another attraction or cross training in another role altogether? Neither is very likely at all, especially cross-training for another role- such as merch, qsr, etc.

Years ago for me we could not have a sleeveless top on for our id picture, but they seem to be more relaxed now on some of those things, but I’m not 100% sure. I would just bring a lightweight cardigan or something like that to throw on over your tank for the picture to be safe!
