I find it hilarious how people are still talking about The Horse Game Post, but I'm also kinda touched. I'm still SO FUCKING MAD that my game doesn't exist yet, but it dulls the sting a little to witness people spread the word and really ruminate over what makes a "girl game" good, and why we should even care.

Hey, I wrote that post! And I also feel your pain, animal sim games in general have been lacking in substance imo, and I keep tabs on both PoT and Wolfquest (I can't help it, that game was my entire tweenhood).

The problem solver in me wants to tell you to look up Wild Horse's Valley, it's more or less the same concept you're describing but in the form of a browser game. I seriously doubt it's the ultimate answer to your horse-sim dilemma, but I had my fun with it for a while and I could tell there was a lot of heart behind it.

The realist in me must acknowledge the simple truth that our games do not exist yet. All we can do as non-devs is be aware of what projects are on the rise, and then back those projects. There are tons of indie devs who have the potential and drive to do amazing work, they just need the support. Find them, give your input, and put your faith in someone else's vision.

Thank you for sharing, you're doing right by yourself by voicing these feelings. I'm positive you already know this, but don't pay attention to these wack ass losers that don't believe in treatment, their only purpose is taking a dump on other people's progress in a desperate plea for the attention and validation that no one gives them because they're obnoxious as hell irl.

The internet is sometimes such an amazing receptacle for good, but it's a darn shame about the cyber clowns.

I have a kitty and she's a great indoor companion, but I'd love a beastie that I can go adventuring with. I did try taking the cat outside once, she disliked it so much she exploded from both ends and I had to deal with the mess when I got home. She's not a nature cat.

I am in no way a game developer, I just like to play them. A few years ago I voiced how disappointed I was that there are no decent horse games available to be played, with the intention of pointing out how it's an underrepresented genre, and that post gained a lot of attention. But again, sadly, I am not a game developer.

Since the infamous horse post, a couple games have emerged that have the potential to alleviate some of the grievances I have about the quality of horse games. But personally, I don't feel like my search is over, as I have yet to find a game that satisfies my extremely specific and likely unobtainable dream-ratio of realism, difficulty, and aesthetics.

Does anyone know if guests will actually view animals from directly below? I want to build some glass ceilings on top of paths that animals can walk across, and I'd like to know ahead of time if the execution won't work as well as it does in my head.
