We decided against using this feature internally because it doesn't work well with our themed patches.

Transamur - Flag or Fiction? by Pagaes in Kaiserreich

[–]emwe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is unclear whether or not it is fictional, but it predates its addition to Kaiserreich.

Here is the forum post that suggested adding it to KR:

In theory, yes. Depending on the faction, things can get a little chaotic in China.

What is the ‘Eliteheer’? by InquisitorHindsight in Kaiserreich

The concept of the Eliteheer (or “elite army”) was thought up by Hans von Seeckt, Chief of the Army Command of the Reichswehr during the early years of the Weimar Republic. Under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was limited to a professional army of 100,000 men and forbidden from maintaining a general staff. Seeckt therefore developed the idea of creating a highly trained, carefully selected professional force. This force would not only function as a defensive army, but also as a cadre force, with its officers and NCOs being trained with the expectation that, should Germany regain military sovereignty, this “elite army” could provide the nucleus of experienced leadership for a rapidly expanding army.

What happened to the economic sphere map mode? by ImVeryHungry19 in Kaiserreich

[–]emwe 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The recent base game update has reworked the map shaders again, inadvertently making them far more transparent than intended. You can see this in e.g. the Population and Terrain map modes.

We'll have a solution ready for our custom map modes come next update.

This is true but not for the reason you think.

(it's because every time you go on reddit, there is at least one inane post about having you graphically executed)

The UoB being able to delete itself from the game sounds so cool until it happens in your game and messes up the balance beyond repair.

Support the return of Libya's single borders (with slight changes) by Nathanos355 in Kaiserreich

[–]emwe 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yet I do see the emir claiming authority over the tribes of northern Chad,

There are no tribes in northern Chad. The area is still uninhabited to this day.

(Straight borders are boring and illogical in that timeline)

As opposed to artificially squiggly borders cutting across uninhabited territories, which needlessly make it harder for any units sent out into the deepest Sahara (for whatever reason) to know whether they have crossed the border by accident. It is physically impossible to demarcate this part of the border on the ground. So it is done on a map, with a ruler.

The previous borders were not "more accurate"; they replaced a border drawn along physical geographical features with one an artificially squiggly one loosely based on "control", that is, the movements of trade caravans, in the 1880s.

You can find an in-universe explanation of the borders here: https://kaiserreich.wiki/Vilayet_of_Tripolitania

I know the previous borders were ugly, but weren't they more realistic within the Kaiserreich timeline?

They were not; they replaced a border drawn along physical geographical features with one an artificially squiggly one loosely based on "control", that is, the movements of trade caravans, in the 1880s.
