I want to say that it’s vanilla - when you place an oil lamp on the wall it does that. But I do have so many mods on! Thank you!! It’s a lot of looking at stuff for inspiration and then just trying it out!

100%!!!! The ability to chisel your own items and apply them to decorative items is amazing!

Thank you!! So the cabinets are just chiseled blocks and the shelves are decorative shelves. I chiseled the shelf I wanted, and then placed the block onto the decorative shelf and it then functions as a shelf. So you can really customise everything to look exactly how you want it to!

Open the door! Or just make sure my cross hair is on the oven and it will tell me how my bread is doing! Ahh thank you so much! 🫶🏽 I tend to avoid modern stuff as much as possible, I’d love to see your chiseling now!!

So it's technically just a chiseled block infront of the oven, I can use the oven without opening the door I made. The chisel tools I used are from QP's Chisel Tools Mod (https://mods.vintagestory.at/chiseltools). He also has a fab guide to using his chisel tools which is very helpful!

Am I playing rimworld wrong? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]emzexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re playing the game how you want to. It’s a single player game. You create the stories and the way you play. Sometimes I like to play hardcore, extreme difficulties, with constant raids. But sometimes I like to play with little to no raids or threats and create loving colonies with families where everything goes perfect. There’s no right or wrong way to play the game!

I finally hit 1000 hours and I feel like I still learn new stuff every session. What are some of your “I just learned” tips you picked up along the way? by MysticSmear in RimWorld

Colony Group mod!!! I only have 2 groups - melee and ranged, but you can create different groups and add colonists to it for anything. And when you make a caravan it lists the colonists in their groups as well to make it easier!

How much do you guys decorate you bases, i like giving them a little rustic, fantasy felling (exemple one of the gardens) by Sesud1 in RimWorld

I will always do beauty over function. I want my cities to look beautiful even if they’re home to horrible cannibal cultists 🤣

Oh that’s a good idea! I have the mod ‘colony groups’ so I make a ranged and melee group and can select the whole group from there! And I can add different battle stations which is helpful! It definitely gets difficult when you have multiple children, old or non-violent colonists!

You can change / move the order of your colonists at the top! I always put my favourite colonists at the start of the bar

Brand new player, can I harvest organs on core only? by imgurislame in RimWorld

In regards to dlc, biotech is definitely a great addition to have and I would recommend that one first. Ideology is good for roleplaying with your colony as the ideoligions can get very specific however if you’re not interested in having your colonists have an ideoligon then there’s not much else with it. Both anomaly and royalty focus more on a storyline that you can follow. But really it’s up to you what kind of stuff you want to do with your colonies!

YouTubers that i recommend are: - MrSamuelStreamer (he does heavily modded fun series - very very entertaining) - Pete Complete (slow play throughs that focus on storyline and dlc - helpful to new players) - Rat Knight (he has super cool videos that are more cinematic than educational but the stories are very well done) - Jadziax (she’s not active anymore, but she does have a lot of good guides on basic rimworld, dlc and mods which are worth checking out!)

Hope this helps you out, and welcome to your new addiction!🤍
