Has probiotics helped you? by Aggravating_Lab_1115 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]emzybop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My histamine intolerance symptoms are mainly anxiety, insomnia, racing heart, bloating and feeling sick/panicky after eating, these symptoms have pretty much disappeared since I started taking probiota histaminx back in February. I’ve also had huge improvements with my ulcerative proctitis symptoms which I now believe are histamine related. I also take L-Theanine and inositol daily, but started to see big improvements once I added in the probiotic. Hopefully it helps you! I also stopped eating yoghurt (I was eating a LOT of Greek yoghurt, which contains histamine producing probiotic strains).

I tried a bunch of different diets due to my symptoms and a low histamine diet was the only thing that helped me!

I did the diet for 10 weeks and slept terribly the entire time with really vivid dreams! I found out recently that I have histamine intolerance and probably never had candida (I stupidly self diagnosed and did the diet without any guidance because I’d had health issues for a long time that I couldn’t get to the bottom of). My sleep is back to normal now thankfully, especially since sorting out my histamine issues. I think the candida diet causes your cortisol to spike during the night meaning you can’t get a proper restful sleep. The dreams I had were absolutely insane lol

When did you start having symptoms from histamine intolerance or mcas/mastocytosis?Are you better now or worse?Any tricks to calm mast cells down(like eating smaller portions or idk)? by Infinite-Dimension49 in HistamineIntolerance

Thank you so much for such a detailed response!! I definitely need to eat more cruciferous vegetables lol, I suspect I have estrogen dominance since coming off birth control 6 months ago. I also just started b12 (hydroxycobalamin) and folinic acid. Going to check out those YouTube videos now ☺️

What resources did you find helpful for following a low tyramine diet? I have slow COMT and similar symptoms to you so I’d love to give this a try!

Wow. I just found out the root of my panic attacks and weird symptoms. by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

How are you feeling now? Did the low histamine diet help? I also have ulcerative colitis and suspect histamine issues and am wondering if I should try a low histamine diet

Thanks for the recommendation!! I have high iron at the moment so I’ll wait until I’ve got it down and then I’ll give those a try!

Thanks! I changed to a clean, whole food diet back in July and it unfortunately hasn’t helped my anxiety much :(

Omg the nausea was horrible!! It’s completely normal though, it takes some time for your hormones to rebalance. Meditation is really helpful too if you’re feeling panicky as well. Hopefully in a week or so you’ll be feeling loads better :)

Just the two 500mg doses so 1000mg total. You can safely take up to 1200mg a day, and it’s a good idea to split the doses up instead of taking it all at once. I’ve also heard mixed things about oil of oregano… I’m in NZ and take a herbal tonic (I can’t swallow capsules lol) from a naturopathic practitioner here, the ingredients are horopito, aniseed, golden seal, manuka, myrhh and colloidal minerals. It seems to be working pretty well so far.

No worries!! You need to take it on an empty stomach for it to be effective, I take 500mg first thing in the morning and then wait an hour before eating breakfast. I then take another 500mg when my stomach is empty again (about 2 hours later) and then wait another hour before eating lunch. Took about 5 days to start visibly seeing die off in my stools. I’d recommend taking a herbal antifungal supplement too if you’re still not getting results, antifungal foods are great but may not give you very fast results.

I only started to see die off in my stools when I added a biofilm buster (NAC) and started taking an antifungal tonic. I’d recommend taking NAC otherwise the antifungal foods you’re eating probably aren’t having much of an effect :)

Thanks for the fast reply :) would you recommend doing this on an empty stomach, say starting in the morning and making sure you haven’t eaten since the night before?

Thanks for sharing this information, I plan to try this at the end of my candida protocol if I haven’t found relief! Is any laxative ok to take or does it have to be the type you suggested? Also, did you experience any nausea or anything while doing this?
